It is known news that the Bollywood sizzler Kangana Ranaut is currently making her debut in Tollywood with her film ‘Ek Niranjan’. However, more than her debut, she is making news for another reason and that is her remuneration.

Sources reveal that Kangana is getting a whopping Rs 1 crore as her fee for her role. This has brought many film pundits to compare her with our very own Anushka. Apparently, Anushka’s remuneration is said to be Rs 65 lakhs so they really wonder if paying Kangana Rs 1 cr is worth or not.
On a comparative scale, many say that Anushka is far better given her voluptuous appeal and her following among the masses. On the other hand, Kangana is barely a new face for the Telugu audience though she is a known name in Bollywood. Wonder what the makers of ‘Ek Niranjan’ have to say to this.

Ek Niranjan is an upcoming Telugu film starring Prabhas Raju Uppalapati and Kangana Ranaut in lead roles.
This is the second film in the combination of the director and Prabhas, as they had together worked earlier for Bujjigadu. Produced by Aditya Ram and directed by Puri Jagannadh, the film has been shot on a special set erected for the film in Hyderabad and will shoot in Bangkok and songs has been shot in Switzerland.

The movie began shooting in April and will end in September. The movie is expected to release on October 29 2009.
Ek Niranjan has been shot on a specially erected set at Ramoji studio in Hyderabad and will extensively shoot in Bangkok and the songs has been shot in Switzerland.

Shot simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, the film is scripted and produced by the director himself with a whopping budget of more than Rs. 5 crores under the banner of Alora Movie Club.

Ajantha is a music-based love story revolving around an upcoming playback singer, Anand, who sings in music festivals and at private parties. His dream is to become an established playback singer as well as a music director. He falls in love with Ajantha, a blind playback singer. An eye specialist reveals that Ajantha can see if she undergoes an expensive surgery. The movie develops over how Anand earns money for his fiancée's operation.



The film stars different South Indian actors in each language version. Ramana and debutant Vandana Gupta feature in Tamil; Saikiran and Vandana in Telugu; Venkatesh and Honey Rose in Kannada; Vinu Mohan and Honey Rose in Malayalam.
There are totally 36 songs in the film in four languages and maestro Ilayaraja has scored the music for lyrics penned by S. Rameshan Nair. Ilavarash handles the camera. Editing is by V. Jaishankar. The crew claims that the film will look like an English film and be remembered by the next three generations.

My Mother, The Mermaid (Korean) Film Review :

This is a really remarkable movie about the relationships between parents and children, about time and loss, and about understanding others. Na-Young works in an office and lives with her ineffectual father and her relentlessly unpleasant, perpetually angry mother. She has no respect for her father and dislikes her mother, even though it's obvious that Na-Young is slowly becoming an unpleasant woman, too.

When her father disappears, Na-Young goes back to the island where her parents met and her mother worked as a pearl fisher -- but somehow Na-Young finds herself face to face with the young women who will -- 30 years or so later -- become her mother. And no, this is not explained, and who cares? It's not like it's possible anyway. It happens. As her mother's life unfolds over a memorable few months, Na-Young is there as a friend. She sees her mother's aspirations and heartbreaks, and of course all that changes Na-Young's perspective.

But the film doesn't turn into Hallmark in Korean. There are no simple explanations for why we change as we get older, no miraculous reconciliations, no unconvincing character reversals. It's just a beautiful film about deepening our understanding of those who share our lives. It's gorgeous to look at, and the central performance -- the same actress plays both mother and daughter -- is pretty close to miraculous

The presence of great and talented actors is one of the best reasons for anyone to watch "Pisau Cukur". Director Bernard Chauly has returned with this comedy after his first 2005 blockbuster movie "Gol & Gincu".
"Pisau Cukur" is about two best friends name Bella (Maya Karin) and Intan (Fazura) who goes on a vacation. During the vacation, Bella searches for a rich husband, while Intan is involved in a murder case of a well known Datuk.

"Pisau Cukur" boasts a talented lineup and some of them have won awards at Festival Filem Malaysia (Malaysian Film Festival) such as Fazura (Best Supporting Female Actress, FFM'04), Maya Karin (Best Female Actress, FFM'08), Liyana Jasmay (Best Female Actress, FFM'09) and Afdlin Shauki (Best Male Actor, FFM'09). The Maya Karin-Fazura combo is the driving force of the movie and they have done well for themselves. Singaporean born Aaron Aziz supports as a character named Ari and meanwhile newcomer Shahredza Minhat plays the character of Faqir. The other supporting roles by Liyana Jasmay, Eizlan Yusof and Umie Aida also contributes to the success of the movie.

In addition to the usual comedy, Bernard still fits in urban elements to the story, making "Pisau Cukur" similar to "Gol & Gincu". Though the story is short and simple, there are new ideas in this movie. Also, despite the title subject ("gold diggers") sounding negative, there is an underlying moral message to be learnt from this story.
A collaboration by Red Films and Primeworks Studios, the movie is written by Rafidah Abdullah (host of Malaysian TV's "3R" who also wrote "Gol & Gincu"). She has contributed towards a movie that is bound to create controversy among certain quarters. However, as the good director has told the press: "People should watch and value the movie themselves because a quality movie will go beyond the superficial elements and entertain nevertheless."

The House of the Devil Hollywood Movie Review

Much like this review, The House of the Devil is a love-letter to the awesomeness that is the unsure, hot chick. I’m not the first writer to suggest that the horror film—particularly the Survival Girl niche—can serve as the ultimate, if culturally-maligned, platform for young guys to reveal and bask in the myriad strengths, vulnerabilities, and attractiveness of the female; and really what is ’s Kill Bill if not the genre’s archetype Survival Girl marching into a kung-pow spaghetti Western fantasia? And his Death Proof but a botched head-on fetish collision with the genre’s idea that audiences should adore a female star(s) and then flinch as she faces death (fulfilled in Inglourious Basterds) or worse? Why the need to bring Tarantino up at all in my review? Well, Tarantino brought many of these genre notions to the aughts’ zeitgeist and to academia, and quite loudly so. He also treats his female characters with the care and attention, unlike so many Hollywood genre films, that Ti West exhibits here with The House of the Devil.

The Story : The House of the Devil is a 2009 horror film written, directed, and edited by Ti West. College student Samantha Hughes takes on a babysitting job in a remote mansion in order to make the down payment on a one bedroom apartment she has had her eye on.

The pay is good, but after Samantha is taken to the house by her friend, Megan, she realizes that something isn't quite right. The old couple who live in the house, Mr. and Mrs. Ulman, confess that they in fact do not have any children, and it isn't long before Samantha realizes that she is trapped. As a lunar eclipse darkens the night sky, her employers carry out a horrific ritual with Samantha at the center.

The film is a good combination of tried and true scary gimmicks. The use of the devil worship robes with the black hoods makes you feel at home, reassures you that this is, indeed, a horror film. The photography is almost entirely at night or in dark interior spaces benefitting the dark nature of the horror awaiting Samantha. The day shots are few but are shot against a marvelous grey sky that foreshadows the hopelessness of poor Sam’s situation. She is in a bad way and things are going to get worse and the bleakness of the atmosphere underscores her lack of options. She has been chosen for this assignment and there is no playing hooky.

Mumbai, India: Vipul Shah brings to you, once again after a long wait, the duo of Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan (Hum Dil Chuke Sanam) fame. The pair stars in his film - London Dreams. A musical flick that takes both the lead stars to London in the quest of fulfilling Arjun’s (Ajay Devgan) grandfathers dream of getting on to the musical stage in London.

The story of jealously, previously named as Rashque when the movie’s lead roles were offered to Amir Khan and Shahrukh Khan. Later the roles were assigned to Salman and Ajay.

Along with Ajay Devgan and Salman Khan, the film’s cast include Asin, Om Puri and Cris Wilnson with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy playing with the cords and Prasoon Joshi sets the lyrics for the film.

The story of movie revolves around the lives of two friends, Arjun (Ajay Devgan) and Mannu (Salman Khan). James has been making a few bucks doing parlor tricks, but realizes it will take forever at that rate to save enough money to return to America. He thinks he has found his great break when he gets a job as a “collector” for Bill the Bookie (Alessandro Nivola). Unlike Bill the Breaker (Timothy Hutton), James uses his relationship skills to collect on gambling debts for his boss.

Still, James finds himself underpaid and undervalued as Bill tells him there are plenty of other boys who want his job. James finally gets his break when he is sent to London to stay with another aunt so he can get a physical exam (his aunts think he has stomach issues because he spends a lot of time in the bathroom “pleasuring” himself). While there, he discovers pornography, something apparently not readily available in his part of 1970s Ireland.

James makes a bad decision to hold out on Bill, which results in his friend Tom (Colm Meaney) getting beaten, and James facing a two week deadline to repay. Using his entrepreneurial skills, James decides to be the local porn dealer and he has his supplier in London ship him boxes, and then crates, of magazines, which he sells for more than double the cost. All goes well until the Bills become aware of the competition and are none to happy.

Turning Green is a surprisingly captivating and cleverly presented film from new writer/director team Michael Aimette and John G. Hofmann. Great supporting stars like Nivola, Hutton, and Meaney add plenty of value to this story, but it is the great presence and enthusiastic talent of new star Donal Gallery that helps Turning Green succeed.

Due to some of the prominent sexual themes, Turning Green is not for younger kids or teens, despite that fact it has not yet been rated by the MPAA. Aside from this potential setback, the film itself offers a great story of one young man’s dream for something bigger and his intuition and drive to get it in the face of serious threats and obstacles.

An American-Irish lad’s efforts to leave Ireland circa 1979 is the springboard for some tart comedy and uneven drama in “Turning Green.” Pic is notable on two counts: As one of the few runners-up in a Project Greenlight contest to actually get made, and as a film that feels thoroughly Irish yet is authored by young indie Yanks. With topline thesps Alessandro Nivola, Timothy Hutton and Colm Meaney as strong support for impressive Irish newcomer Donal Gallery, take will earn support for modest theatrical play and good cable jaunts.

Gallery’s jaded James undercuts picture postcard views of the Emerald Isle with caustic voice-over comments that conclude that the place is basically “a shitty little island.”

Michael Jackson's final film is a compilation of rehearsal, behind-the-scenes and other footage of the pop legend preparing for the This Is It concert series which was to be held for 100 shows in London. High School Musical's Kenny Ortega directs and handles all of the choreography.

A rare glimpse into the final days of Michael Jackson, the documentary is compiled from an estimated 80 hours of rehearsal and behind-the-scenes footage of the legendary entertainer preparing for his 50 sold-out shows at London's O2 Arena that were scheduled to commence in July 2009 before his untimely death in June at age 50. Audiences will be given a privileged and private look at Jackson as he has never been seen before. In raw and candid detail, Michael Jackson's THIS IS IT captures the singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, creative genius and great artist at work as he creates and perfects his final show. Young and in love, Nick and Lori have taken the plunge, eloped to Las Vegas and gotten themselves hitched. Lori's parents will probably be furious when they return but that's a week away yet and there's still a honeymoon to be had, a week spent surrounded by the natural beauty of the Grand Canyon. Nick's had a long standing fixation with the history of the region, you see, and Lori is more than willing to indulge her new husband with a guided mule tour down into the Canyon floor. Enter Will Patton as Henry, the drunken old coot who seems to be as much a part of the land as a resident on it, a local character filled with fascinating stories and a disregard for the way things are meant to be done who swears that he can guide them into the Canyon if they want. He's even got all of the gear required. The pair agree and life is good until - well off of the approved trail through the Canyon - Henry is bitten by a poisonous snake, the pack animals panic and scatter and Nick and Lori are stranded - completely without resources to help the dying Henry and completely helpless to find their way out of the Canyon without his guidance. All there is in their future is hunger, thirst and wolves.

An intimate survival thriller from director Richard Harrah, The Canyon takes great advantage of both the stunning natural settings and the skills of lead actors Yvonne Strahovski and Eion Bailey as Lori and Nick. The newlyweds feature in every scene of the picture, the success of the film lying in their slow fade into panic and despair as plans fail and supplies dwindle, pushing the pair to ever more desperate plans. As their technology fails, meager supplies dwindle and it becomes increasingly evident that they are hopelessly lost with no help coming, Lori and Nick slip into a world of increasingly murky moral decisions. Even worse than the prospect of neither of them surviving is the very real possibility that only one of them can and that they will have to make the decision as to who it will be.

Kaiji Japanese Movie Review :

Kaiji Ito moves to Japan after graduating from high school. Unable to find a job and frustrated with society at large, Kaiji spends his days gambling, vandalizing cars and drinking booze. Two years later and his life no better, a debt collector named Endo arrives to collect money, offering two choices to Kaiji: spend 10 year paying off his loan or board a gambling boat for one night to repay his debt and possibly


If you are really thirsty and you drink a beer, you have to close your eyes, look to the heavens, ooh and ah, fall to your knees, and declare out loud how damn GOOD it tastes, all the while talking to yourself. You know, like in a beer commercial.

The bad news is, director Toya Sato has escaped from that parallel universe into ours, and brought this clunking, tawdry, disjointed insult to the proud tradition of Japanese cinema with him.

The story, such as it is, is that Kaiji has a huge gambling debt and his life is going nowhere. That leads him to becoming the plaything of a misanthropic multi-billionaire building a nuclear shelter using slave labour and with a penchant for life-and-death gambling games.

If film is stories told by pictures, and the Japanese are a non-verbal culture, could someone please tell me why there is so much TALKING in this film? Kaiji crosses a narrow bridge 200 meters in the air. He looks behind to see that his friend has fallen. The audience can see he has fallen. But Kaiji tells us: "He has fallen." Endo watches a five-card game. The players play three cards, and each play is a draw. They have two cards left. We can see this, but somehow we get to hear Endo's thoughts, which tell us: "After three cards played it is a draw. It is down to the last two cards." Who exactly is this insipid narration for? Is there a retarded baboon wearing earplugs and a blindfold sitting at the back of the theatre that Sato felt the need to accommodate? I have given only two examples, but the whole film is like this. The most glaringly obvious action is either replayed, or explained verbosely by one character to another.

A film is dubbed from Telugu to Tamil for some weird but wonderful reason. We are now talking about the Prabhas-Trisha starrer ‘Bujjigadu -Made in Chennai’ which was directed by Puri Jagannath.

And here is the reason why Bujjigadu is being dubbed into Tamil - the hero of the film played a crazy fan of Superstar Rajinikanth! Cool right? We have it that the film will be dubbed in to Tamil as Kumaran - Rajini Rasigan.

The latest word of mouth is that the film was sold like hot cakes. The film is distributed here by Venkat Rao. Furthermore as many as 65 prints of the silver screen are living being made. Actually the film was shot in Chennai and few clippings from Superstar Rajini’s ‘Baasha’ and ‘Padayappa’ are used in the intro songs. An extra plus point of the film is a few hot scenes between Trisha and Prabhas. Thus, the above facts have proved to be the USP of ‘Kumaran - Rajini Rasigan’.

Don’t be surprised as to what this is but then ‘Mallika I love you’ happens to be the title of a movie that is gearing up to get released in the Telugu circuit.
Incidentally, this happens to be the dubbed version of a Tamil movie which was a good hit out there. The director of this movie is Raju Sundaram, the noted choreographer and brother of Prabhu Deva.

The film has Ajith and the talented Navadeep as the heroes while the hot beauty Nayantara was the heroine. This also has the noted Malayalam actor Jayaram along with Suman in key roles.
The film was made at an estimated budget of Rs 20 crores and Yuvan Shankar Raja has scored the tunes.
Ajith starrer ‘Aegan’ has been dubbed in Telugu. To cash in on the craze for Nayantara in Andhra Pradesh, the film has been titled ‘Mallika I Love You’.

Audio of the film, jointly made by Ayangaran Interational Pvt Ltd and Snehal International, was released in Hyderabad recently.
According to R Murali Krishna, one of the producers, “Earlier we dubbed the Tamil movie ‘Duet’ in Telugu and Tollywood films ‘Pournami’ and ‘Operation Duryodhana’ in Malayalam. ‘Mallika I Love You’ is about a CBI officer (Ajith) and his efforts to halt the operations of a terrorist (Suman).”

He adds: “This is a romantic action entertainer. Choreographer Raju Sundaram has directed the movie. Yuvan Shankar Raja scored excellent music. Navadeep has played a full-length role. We are planning to release the flick in the first week of September.

This time, he is pairing up with the apple pie beauty Hansika Motwani. The film also has Mukesh Rishi, Ashish Vidyarthi, Jayaprakash Reddy, Brahmanandam, Ali, Raghu Babu, Venu Madhav, Sudha, Hema, Banerjee, Chalapathi Rao, Vakeel Khan in the supporting cast.

The director of this is Naren Kondepati who is making his debut while Kalyanram is the producer. The music has been arranged by Thaman and the audio release has got a good response from the music lovers.

The lyrics have been penned by the team of Ramajogayya Sastry, Sirivennela Seetarama Sastry, Krishna Chaitanya. The cinematography is taken care of by Dasaradhi Sivendra while the art department is looked after by Rajiv Nair.

The story has been penned by B V S Ravi and he has also provided the dialogues. Sources reveal that the story revolves around a young man and where did he score success- in his love story or in bringing justice forms the essence.
It is also said that Kalyan would be shown in a rather stylish image in this one and even Hansika is said to have given a glamour feast.



Apparently, the title has got a significance since it happens to be the first song in the super hit movie ‘Dana Veera Soora Karna’ which had the legendary N T Rama Rao, father of Kalyanram in the lead.

If this one scores a hit, then Kalyanram would have scored a hat trick under his home banner. The film is hitting the screens this Friday and the outcome would be known soon.

Bumper Offer Telugu Film Review::

Puri Jagan’s Vaishno Academy new movie with Sairam Shankar is titlled as Bumper Offer. Bindu Madhavi (Avakai Biryani fame) is doing female lead. Jaya Ravindra – a protégé of Puri Jagan directs this movie. The shooting of the movie is complete but for a couple of songs to be shot in Bangkok. Puri Jagan started audio company called ‘Puri Sangeet’ and will be releasing Bumper Offer music on that label on 5 September. Popular singer Raghu Kunche is turning music director with this movie. Puri Jagan also provides story and dialogues for Bumper Offer.

Puri Jagannath is producing a film, 'Bumper Offer' under the banner of Vaishno Academy with his brother Sairam Shankar as hero, and Bindu Madhavi of 'Avakai Biryani'-fame as heroine. The film is being directed by his protégé Jaya Ravindra, while Raghu Kunche is making his debut as music director through this film. Another specialty is that Puri Jagannath himself is starting an audio company titled Puri Sangeet and the audio of 'Bumper Offer' would be released through Puri Sangeet on September 11.

Executive producer Sankar Ganesh says, "Sairam Sankar would appear in a new look in this movie. Recently two songs were choreographed at Bangkok with which we almost wrapped up the shooting. The story and its movement would be very entertaining and there are several elements that could attract the youth and mass audiences. We are making efforts to release the film on September 25 as a Dasara gift."

Set in 1776, this novel-adaptation story centre on a man called Awang, who returned to Parit Raja, Johor to marry his fiancee Dayang after being away for more than three years. It is turn of the century in Belle Epoque Paris and a scandalous romp is underfoot. The tale begins as the ravishing Lea contemplates retirement from her renowned stature as Paris's most envied seductress to the rich and famous. Her plans are cut short when she is approached by a former courtesan and arch rival, the barb-throwing gossip Charlotte Peloux, who encourages Lea to teach her disaffected 19 year-old son a thing or two about women. The resulting escapades involve power struggles over sex, money, age and society -- and unexpectedly, love itself -- as a boy who refuses to grow up collides with a woman who realizes she cannot stay young forever.

Cheri Hollywood Movie Review :

"Cheri" is the nickname given by Lea (Michelle Pfeiffer) to the young, much younger Fred, whom she brings to discover the truth about lovemaking, and unintentionally but inevitably, about loving. The actor playing Fred is handsome, attractive, but who really hits the sign (as usually, I would say) is Michelle Pfeiffer, who proved to be very courageous in playing a role where she constantly repeats to herself how old she is. Indeed, her beauty, elegance and refinement are always there to remind her and us how difficult it is to come to terms with ageing, mainly when beauty has been the very essence of your life.

The plot is almost absent, being the story more based on emotions, moods, sensations, rather than facts, and the movie in the end manages to capture the viewer, thanks to its capability to render the emotional side through glances and through effective and intense framing of both characters and situations: the last one is incisive, almost paralyzing.

Ironic and funny moments are not absent, mainly when Cathy Bates, playing the odd, high spirited mother, enters the scene, but the overall tone is a melancholic one, above all for the female public, we cannot but sympathize with Lea's inner strength, and at the same time feel moved by her deep suffering. From an aesthetic point of view, the movie is to be visually appreciated for its pleasant settings, its refined costumes and in general for a deep care for precious details.
