Utter domination of the Toronto Maple Leafs is one reason why the Buffalo Sabres are atop the Northeast Division and returning to the playoffs. Continuing that dominance Thursday night in Toronto could give the Sabres their second division title in four seasons.
Buffalo (43-23-10) has won 10 consecutive games against the Maple Leafs (28-36-13) overall, and eight straight at Toronto -- the longest active road winning streak by any NHL club over another.
The Sabres' last loss at Air Canada Centre was a 4-2 defeat Jan. 19, 2008. They've outscored the last-place Leafs 17-8 to win all five meetings in 2009-10, regardless of venue.
Buffalo is in position to sweep a season series from the Maple Leafs for the first time since 1991-92, when the teams were in different conferences and only met twice.
Partially due to their success against the Leafs, the Sabres have already clinched a playoff spot and own a seven-point lead on Ottawa in the Northeast. Another win over the Maple Leafs combined with a Senators' loss to Carolina would secure Buffalo's first division crown since 2007.
The Sabres are also second in the East -- one point ahead of Atlantic Division-leading Pittsburgh with six games to play -- after getting goals from six players in Wednesday's 6-2 win over Florida.
"It's a big step when you have that much depth," said right wing Jason Pominville, who netted his team-leading 24th goal. "Guys have stepped in at different moments and played well."
That depth has been key with center Tim Connolly (foot) and left wing Thomas Vanek (lower body) sidelined due to injury. It's unclear when the duo will return, but both players are key offensive cogs. Connolly leads Buffalo with 65 points, while Vanek is second to Pominville with 23 goals.
Pominville, Connolly and Vanek have all been superb during the 10-game winning streak against the Leafs. Pominville has a team-high 13 points in those contests, while Connolly has contributed 11 and Vanek 10.
Ryan Miller, who only faced 15 shots Wednesday, has also thrived against Toronto, posting a 1.39 goals-against average and two shutouts while starting each game of the winning streak. He's also won eight consecutive road meetings.
The Maples Leafs are relegated to the spoiler role, having been eliminated from playoff contention for a fifth consecutive season after Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Atlanta.
"We handed them the game," coach Ron Wilson said. "They did some things well, but we just gave them the game, essentially. Unfortunately."
As Toronto turns its focus to the future, forward Brayden Irwin is scheduled to make his NHL debut after signing a two-year contract Monday.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Irwin led Vermont with 34 points and helped the team earn a second straight bid to the NCAA tournament. The Toronto native is expected to play the final six games of the season before returning to Burlington to finish school.
"I've only been here for a couple of days, so I'm still making the adjustment," he said. "The last couple of days have been a little bit of a whirlwind, but it's exciting and I'm looking forward to getting on the ice."

The seed is planted and Ray, fearing he will lose his love, engineers the plan. Hiring a professional arsonist becomes a fatal error, and the plan goes horribly wrong. Alarm bells sound and suspicions are raised, but miraculously, the dust looks to settle. After all...Nobody knows. Then the first blackmail note arrives. The couple’s nerves are tested as both Carla’s husband and the mystery author threaten to throw open their secret. With the blackmailer’s deadline approaching they are going to find out just how far they are willing to go for love.
THE SQUARE is the first feature film from Australian stuntman-turned-director Nash Edgerton and his brother Joel (who co-wrote and stars in the film). Joel Edgerton recently starred in "A Streetcar Named Desire" opposite Cate Blanchett in Sydney and at BAM in New York City and is currently in production on "The Thing", a prequel to John Carpenter's 1982 film. Nash Edgerton recently coordinated the stunts for Sofia Coppola's upcoming "Somewhere" and James Mangold's upcoming "Knight and Day" starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz.
Review
Australian cinema has been on the down-low in North America for some time now (albeit, their film stars emigrate to Hollywood on the same order as Canada and the UK), but there has been some really solid stuff coming from down under lately, including Last Ride, Van Dieman's Land and The Loved Ones. The Square, a stylish crime picture directed by stuntman Nash Edgerton, has been touring the festival circuit for some time, had its domestic bow way back in July 2008, is finally getting a limited release in the US and Canada in April and a handsomely cut trailer has popped up on Vimeo (below).
The film stars a bevy of awesome Australian actors, including David Roberts (who is a dead ringer for David Strathairn!) in the lead, Claire Van Der Boom, Anthony Hayes, Hanna Mangan Lawrence and Joel Edgerton.
The Square is getting a limited (NY, LA) release on April 9th, followed (hopefully) by a widening in May. Here in Canada the film launches in Toronto April 16th.

Review
Movie was inspired by a true story and no wonders why all ready Letters to God (2010) movie have all the necessary stuff line up for the movie released. Few good movie trailer are giving the best shot at the movie plot and some times it want let any one with out having kind of tear on the eyes of them. Most of the fans did love to see some deep stories and this movie does suited for those kinds of fans really want to see some thing related to reality and fairy.
If any one do believes on some thing very strongly it was bow to happen and this was the policy shown by this wonderful movie. This movie not only shows how the people get laid down with some deceases like cancer and it was a fine movie adoption for those really suffers from it and hope to add wish courage with the movie. It bring some short of straight to every ones mind and it shows how any one can explore the life with having a clean heart and desire. This movie was at the top gear to show the religiosity manner of a kid and finally it makes him so closer to the god and it was one of the finest of movies made the catholic valued.
Rather in the movie it based on a boy who was well into the later part of the cancer and others who are around him not as strong as this kid. Some times in life people have to consider about the faith but some times when you know nothing worst than wasting the time left to live this boy find the perfect way to get to god. It was by writing some of the letters to god he thinks the only solutions for his life. It was one of the most enthused story for many for sure and the story of a kid have some short of desperation of hope to live another day happily makes the movie more drama and complex with so many other stuff.
But what happens in the movie was pretty drama with a post man collect these letter and he find solutions for this boys faith, been what he desire and even he loose the way of his own life as the beginning he was a nothing else than a looser and with the time been reading this letters to god he begins to feel more life for this boy and able to find the love of his life and also the path of god. Tyler Doherty was the boy who writes these letters to god and his thoughts might bring tears to most of fans eyes for sure. Brady McDaniels was the man who collects all these letters and after then life makes him to get closer to this family and even fell in love with the mother of the kid. It was one of the wishers of the kid to bring some one to take care of her. What a nice movie feeling made in the movie and this was quite extraordinary faith.

As comic-turned movies usually go, this was one that is unlike any other. From Sylvain White, director of Stomp The Yard, this movie brings an edge to comic-book movies. This is a surprise mix of action, comedy, and just a tad bit of drama. The Losers is a substantial Saturday-night's entertainment.
The Losers starts with an attack by a CIA team (Jeffrey Dean Morgan, Chris Evans, Idris Elba, Columbus Short, and Oscar Jaenada), which was a pretty predictable way for the movie to start. The team soon realizes after the compound is demolished, that they had been set up by someone named Max. Since they have no passports, they are bound in the country. Then Clay (Morgan) meets Aisha (Saldana) in a bar, she informs him that she can get them back to the States and help them catch Max. They agree, and the story begins.
For the next hour, the silly quips by technical analyst Jensen (Evans) is the only break in between the mediocre action scenes and the dull dialogue. The action and fight scenes are something that this type of audience has seen many times--making those scenes just average. Jeffrey Dean Morgan's portrayal of Clay is good, but a bigger star attached would have gotten a wider audience. Warner Brothers decided to provide a new side of Zoe Saldana--a badass one used for the same purposes as Megan Fox's character in Transformers. The set is nothing spectacular either, I noticed that I've seen the same locations used in up to as many as 3 previous movies. However, The twist halfway through movie renders more thought out of the audience, in the end just confusing them.

Synopsis:
"YONA YONA PENGUIN" is a story about the adventure of Coco, a small girl who walks around the town night by night, always in the penguin coat that her late father had given to her. Through the meetings with those diverse types of people and those magical events, it tells the ingenuousness of the children everywhere and the importance and strength, leaving the heart-warming impressions to those who watch this animation.
Do you notice how seldom we use the word “cartoon” these days- except to describe what plays on Saturday mornings on the goggle box? Lately, we’d much prefer to call them “animations”, perhaps in part to avoid the connotation that they are meant for children and children alone. Thanks to the likes of Studio Ghibli and Pixar, films like “Up”, “Wall E” and “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea” are no longer considered entertainment for those 10 and below, but wholesome fun for everyone of all ages.
“Yona Yona Penguin” arrives at such an inopportune time- inopportune because people expect more than a Saturday-morning cartoon when they step inside the cinema to watch an animation. Though its visuals and even its premise may suggest that it possesses the whimsical nature of the best Miyazaki-Studio Ghibli animations, “Yona Yona Penguin” is really strictly just a cartoon. Indeed, it’s hard to imagine anyone above the age of 10 enjoying this fantasy tale of a little girl obsessed with penguins drawn into an underground kingdom.
The little girl here refers to the big-eyes, bubbly Coco (voiced by Ei Morisako) whose hobby of wandering the streets at night in a penguin costume hasn’t exactly won her any friends. Quite out of the blue, she is lured into a carnival-like tent called “Penguin Store” which is really an entrance to an alternate world. Here she meets the inhabitants of a goblin village, who think she is the prophesied flightless bird that will save them from the evil reign of the Emperor of Darkness, Bukka-Boo.
Intriguing as this may sound, there’s really very little story in “Yona Yona Penguin”. Japanese helmer Rintaro (of cult animes “Galaxy Express 999” and “Metropolis”), who also came up with the story, is apparently more interested in bringing his audience from one colourfully drawn setting to another- never mind that the movie has the narrative coherence of a six-year-old. So at the end, one knows little about the world of the goblins or the origins of Bukka-Boo to make sense of, or for the matter care, about what happens.
Just as poorly drawn are its characters- Bukka-Boo’s right-hand man Lord Zammy who’s really a fallen angel; the goblin Chaley who led Coco to this enchanted land; and even Coco herself, whose character arc as a fatherless daughter seems more like an afterthought. Sure, they may be cute, but once that ‘aww-shucks’ charm wears off, they are just too thinly-drawn for anyone to identify with them on their journey of self-discovery.
And that is indeed unfortunate, for this “3D anime” film from Japanese anime studio Madhouse is beautifully animated, both in terms of its colourful landscapes as well as its irresistibly cute-looking characters. A deliberate attempt by Madhouse to introduce the look and feel of an anime into the 3D CGI world, “Yona Yona Penguin” boasts delightfully charming visuals that are ultimately let down by its undercooked storyline and characterisation.
Had “Yona Yona Penguin” come out ten years ago, it would have no doubt be enough to enchant audiences with its richly animated images. But in this era of Studio Ghibli and Pixar, where audiences expect animations to be more than just a collage of pretty and colourful pictures, this glossy Saturday-morning cartoon just doesn’t have enough to satisfy.
