Review
Male Barali Manju Irali movie is all about love, friendship and faith. Srinagar Kitty and Parvathi Menon are in lead roles. Srinagar Kitty is the coffee planter son. He is well educated and he want to achieve something big in life. But his brother is opposite to him in nature. Their interaction with Parvathi Menon forms the story.
Manoo Murthy’s luck with ‘M’ seems to be running out. After epic hits such as Mungaru Male, Milana and to some extent, Moggina Manasu tunes, the M factor in Male Barali Manju Irali is just one futile shot. The tunes of this album are a sad reminder of MM’s old glory. Only two songs are worth listening. The rest are ‘listen-at-your-own-risk’ numbers.
The muhurat of Male Barali, Manju Irali, the Kannada film being directed by Vijayalakshmi Singh, was conducted at Channamma Junior College in Madapur (Kodagu). This is the first time that the pooja of a Kannada film is being conducted at Kodagu. The film is being produced under the banner of Dakshat Combines. M.P. Appachu Ranjan, Madikeri M.L.A. clapped the board signalling the commencement of the shooting. K.P. Chandrakala, former president of the Kodagu District Panchayat, switched on the camera.

Male Barali, Manju Irali is a love story in the backdrop of the coffee plantation in Kodagu. This is Vijayalakshmi’s second film. Earlier, she had directed and produced Ee Bandhana. Vijayalakshmi said that she had involved the same team of technicians who had worked in her first film.

The title of the film is taken from a news paper headline. 'Mukhyamantri' Chandru and Hema Choudhary will act as plantation owners. Sringar Kitty and Parvathi Menon are in the lead roles. Nagkiran, Lakshman, Umasree and Sadhu Kokila are also in the cast.
Ondsala Ondu: (Kunal Ganjawala): This number commences with foot tapping beats that seemingly hold out some promise. However, it turns out that this ondsala ondondu-sala track is true to its name. It is a one time (strictly one) listenable number.

Gelathi Neenu: (Sonu Nigam, Shreya Ghoshal): The Sonu- Shreya combo has been a tried, tested and repeated Sandalwood formula that is as popular as bread and jam. This slow, soft, romantic number that comes from the Kaikini pen grows on you with time.

Ondu Ninna: (Shreya Ghoshal): The trailing tunes and moaning tone of Ondu Ninna is a track gone lost. Shreya’s golden voice, music whiz Mano murthy and Kaikini do not seem to work any of the earlier magic.

Yeno Agide: (Tippu, Supriya Ramakrishnaiah): In yet another literary paradox, yeno agide makes you wonder where the musical wizardry of MM got mislaid? The track seems painfully plain and chugs along like a goods train. Though you wish that it ends quickly, the wagons that go by seem endless.

Vijayambike: (Manasi Prasad): With all reverence to bhajans, the 93 second Vijayambike number is short. And we thank God for that!
Vidayada Veleyalli: (KK): Do sad songs have to sting your ears, in order to feel the pain? KK’s high pitched voice amputates all emotion, leaving the lifeless notes of Bhatt to the mercy of MM imagination. Ultimately it is the listener who takes the bleating (oops beating).

Male Barali: (Alok, Inchara): The title song in a Kanglish mix, is all about the Male and the Manju. From the start to end, Male Barali Manju Irali in a repetitive mode, drives home one single point that Gururaj so compellingly makes, Male Barali, Manju Irali.

Jaga Jagiso: (Keshav Prasad, Mahalakshmi Iyer): Now we wonder if you can call tunes that ring a bell as signature notes or repetition. Jaga Jagiso is a melodious number that could bring back memories of old tunes and I must mention a lot of lost smiles as well. I am talking about the smiles lost by listening to previous tracks.
