Who is Don Ready? Salesman? Lover? Song Stylist? Semi-professional dolphin trainer? Ready is all of the above – except for a dolphin trainer. When he’s asked to help save an ailing local car dealership from bankruptcy, Ready and his ragtag crew descend on the town of Temecula like a pack of coyotes on a basket full of burgers. Selling, drinking, selling and going to strip clubs is their stock and trade. And they do it well. What Don doesn’t expect is to fall in love and find his soul (cue heartfelt piano).

Review
Paramount Vantage has released a new movie trailer for The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard on Moviefone, but Trailer Addict has the red band version. The film stars Jeremy Piven as a Used-car liquidator named Don Ready who is hired by a failing auto dealership to turn their Fourth of July sale into a majorly profitable event.

Basically, Piven is doing the same act that he does on Entourage, but instead of being a Hollywood agent, this time he’s a car salesman. Don’t get me wrong, the fast talking asshole character Piven has perfected is incredibly funny and suits him well. This film however seems to go for corny over-the-top gags, which just isn’t my brand of humor. Watch the trailer embedded after the jump.

A smooth-talking jack-of-all-trades attempts to save a struggling car dealership from certain bankruptcy in this comedy starring Jeremy Piven, directed by Chappelle’s Show creator Neal Brennan, and produced by Will Ferrell and Adam McKay’s Gary Sanchez Productions. Don Ready (Piven) takes sales seriously; he’s always up for a challenge, and he parties as hard as he works. Approached to help an ailing car dealership from falling into the red, Ready recruits a crew of his best men and descends upon the quiet town of Temecula determined to succeed. Before long the dealership is flourishing and Ready’s crew are kings of the roost, but what happens when the man who made his mint by hustling cars meets the one woman who isn’t charmed by his formidable skills as a salesman. Realizing this may be his one shot at true love, Ready starts working overtime to convince the woman of his dreams that he’s the best bargain on the lot. Has the hustler finally found his soul, or is he so locked into his anything-goes lifestyle that there’s no looking back? Ving Rhames, Ed Helms, James Brolin, and David Koechner co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, All Movie Guide
