Malasri, who played in hit films like "Prema Khaidi’ and "Bava Bavamaridi’, had distanced herself from the Tollywood for quite some time after her marriage. However, she had become busy with other language films like Kannada. Her recent film "Karnataka Kiran Bedi’, directed by N Om Prakash Rao, is being dubbed into Telugu as "Andhra Kiran Bedi’ and is getting released very soon. Speaking on the occasion, Malasri says, "I played chivalrous and romantic heroine in many Telugu films. But for Kannadigas, I am well known as an action heroine. I played as police officer in one of my recent films and Kiran Bedi would be the name which is inspiring for woman police officers. So we chose that name as our title, but it has nothing to do with her. I am also interested in doing Telugu films if I get interesting characters even now. Any how I am very happy for returning to the Telugu film industry even after a 10-year gap.’ Producer and Malasri’s husband Ramu says, "The film which was released in Kannada on March 7 is still running with good collections. Almost 25 days of film was shot in Ramoji Film City itself. Presently dubbing works are in progress. We are making efforts to release the film in August.’ Asish Vidyarthi, GV, Mahesh, Parthasarathi, Rangayana Raghu, Sivaparvati, Sakuntala and others are in the cast. Camera is by Vishnuvardhan, action is by Palani Raj, while Hamsalekha would take up re-recording of the Telugu version.

A Press meet regarding a dubbed film titled ‘Andhra Kiran Bedi’ has been organized at Prasad Labs this evening. This film was a super hit film in Kannada with the title ‘Kannada Kiran Bedi’ and therefore is dubbed into Telugu as ‘Andhra Kiran Bedi’. Producer Ramu, director N Om Prakash Rao, Actress Malasri and writer Vennelakanti participated in the meet. Malasri while speaking, "I’ve worked in this film after a gap of five years. In the same manner I’ve not worked for Telugu films for the past a decade. I’ve earned an image as a glamorous actress in Telugu and as an action oriented heroine in Kannada industry. This is my 5th film in this producer-director combo. I hope that this film will be as successful in Telugu as in Kannada. I also wish to do a straight film in Telugu provided this film becomes a big hit."Director N Om Prakash Rao informed that this is like a straight film because they have made few changes and re-shot some scenes for about 25 days in Ramoji Film City and Ramanaidu studios. "This is the 25th film in our combination. We have just started the dubbing activities and I hope that the audience will like and accept ‘Andhra Kiran Bedi’, said producer RamuVennelakanti said that the title aptly suited the Telugu version and the success lies in that title only.Apart from Malasri, other prominent cast is Aasish Vidhyarthi, Jeevi, Mahesh, PD Raju, Telangana Sakuntala, Siva Parvathy, Parthasaradhi, Bullet Prakash and others. Vishnuvardhan handles the camera and Hamsalekha provides the music.
