Up in the Air English Film Plot Summary: The story focuses on Ryan Bingham (Clooney), a corporate hatchet man who loves his life on the road but is forced to fight for his job when his company downsizes its travel budget. He is required to spend more time at home just as he is on the cusp of a goal he's worked toward for years: reaching five million frequent flyer miles and just after he's met the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams.
The Story : Up in the Air is a 2009 American comedy-drama film. George Clooney plays a man who travels around the country to terminate corporate employees. On occasion he delivers motivational speeches about the virtue of a relationship-free life.
He relishes the comfort of being anonymous during his perpetual travels. He does not have a personal life and he numbs himself with sex, booze and drugs. His company chooses to ground him and keep him at the corporate headquarters in Omaha, Nebraska. According to Reitman, "The movie is about the examination of a philosophy—what if you decided to live hub to hub, with nothing, with nobody?"
Up in the Air Hollywood Movie Review :
I was lucky enough to catch George Clooney's "Up in the Air" at the Toronto Film Festival and was very impressed with the quality of this movie in both acting and story. It is emotional, funny and is actually better than Jason Reitman's past works like "Juno" and "Thank You For Smoking."
Today we have a full-length trailer for "Air" that is scheduled to hit theaters on December 4th, in limited release. It will then expand on Christmas (December 25th).
In "Up in the Air," Clooney plays a human resources executive whose only joy in life comes from the prospect of notching his ten millionth frequent-flyer mile, a goal he pursues with zeal as the rest of his life falls apart because he is constantly on the road.
