Nurnberg travel to Bremen tomorrow aiming to send a message to the rest of the Bundesliga that they are determined to be around in the top flight again next season.
The Bavarians have worked their way out of the bottom three thanks to a five-game unbeaten run and they have no intention of halting their progress in the north of Germany.
"If we can win one or three points in Bremen, then that would be a clear sign to the competition,'' said Nurnberg's coach Dieter Hecking.
"We have got to show our opponents a lot of respect, but that does must not lead to us being star-struck.
"It is a very important game.''
Bremen will also be taking the game seriously despite practically securing their place in Europe next season by virtue of reaching the final of the DFB-Pokal on Tuesday.
A 2-0 win over Augsburg booked the cup holders a date with Bayern Munich in Berlin on May 15, and since their opponents are almost certain to qualify for the Champions League next season, that will leave Bremen with the Europa League berth reserved to the cup winners, even if they fail to get the better of Bayern.
But that does not mean Bremen are going to end the season now.
"There is no difference in importance between one game and another,'' said their coach Thomas Schaaf.
"We have got to perform to our best to be able to play at a high level against everybody.''
Nevertheless, Schaaf may rotate his side a little after the recent marathon of matches in the league, Europa League and DFB-Pokal has left his players weary.
Hecking may not have as much choice with his team selection since top goalscorer Albert Bunjaku has a muscular injury.
"We will not take any risks with him,'' confirmed Hecking, who has Marcel Risse ready in reserve.
