Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam Preview:
After 'Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi' and 'Arai En 305il Kadavul', filmmaker Simbu Devan is back with a cowboy movie set in the 17th century. Titled 'Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam', the movie produced by Kalpathi S Agoram for AGS Entertainment has Raghava Larencce, Padmapriya, Lakshmi Rai and Sandhya playing the lead roles.
Humour has always been Simbu Devan’s forte. He says, "I have my own identity. Audience asks for clean humour and I give it to them through my movies."
"Since my childhood, I have been fond of cowboy movies. I love reading cowboy stuff in comics and novels. I have always wished to make a comedy movie on them. 'Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam' is a product of that wish,’ says Simbu Devan, who started his career as a cartoonist with a popular Tamil weekly.
A comical film, 'Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam' also features Nasser, Saikumar, Mouli and Manorama in pivotal roles. The look of the film is designed by art director Muthuraj, the man behind the Malayalam mega venture 'Pazhassi Raja'.
"After ‘Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikesi’ and ‘Arai En 305il Kadavul’, I took my time to research about cowboys. I googled for minute details about them and watched a lot of cowboy movies," Simbu Devan says and adds: "I am thankful to producer Kalpathi S Agoram. He listened to my story for just 15 minutes and agreed to produce it."
Not ready to divulge the movie’s story, he says, "Everything about the film is unique. All the characters have some specialty in them. We have used over 100 varieties of hats and different tattoos." "Fantasy films involving huge star cast are no easy tasks. We have worked hard to get the desired effect on screen," he adds.
On Larencce and other lead players, he says, "Larencce has proved that he is not just a good dancer, but an excellent actor as well. All the actresses have given their best shot. I am sure the audience is going to enjoy it immensely."
Heaping laurels on art director Muthuraj, the director says, "His extraordinary talent is sure to get noticed once the movie hits the screens. His sets are meticulously authentic and provide the film with a distinct tone." He adds: "Also the percussion instruments that music composer G V Prakash has used for the background score are sure to floor you."
"The last cowboy movie in Kollywood was released in 1971 and it had actor Jai Shankar playing the lead. I want to revive the genre and the end product is ‘Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam’. Hence I know I have a responsibility to live up the expectations of the audience," Simbu Devan concludes with all hope.
After ‘Pokirri’, Prabhudeva and Vijay formally come together for another movie titled ‘Singam’. Produced by Ayangaran International, the movie will be a racy entertainer made in a mammoth budget.

The photo session for ‘Singam’ was held in Chennai at the AVM Studios on Sunday in which Vijay and Prabhudeva took part.
Having completed the story and the script, Prabhudeva is now on the look out for heroines. He will commence ‘Singam’ once he completes the Hindi version of ‘Pokirri’ starring Salman Khan.
