Movie Plot
The National Award winning film, ‘1940 lo Oka Gramam’ had its audio launch in Hyderabad. The audio launch event was graced by several celebrities such as Bellamkonda Suresh, B.Gopal, Parachuri Gopalakrishna, Narasimha Nandi, Bellamkonda Suresh, Tammareddy Bharadwaj and Sri Ramya.
The film is all about the story of a village in pre-independence era which deals on high and low casts and Richa and poor. The film is directed by Narasimha Nandi. The film is being released by Bellamkonda Suresh under ‘Sri Lakshmi Narasimha’ banner. The movie has Bala Aditya and Sri Ramya in the lead roles. ‘1940 lo Oka Gramam’ also won 4 Nandi Awards.

Movie Synopsis
Baladitya starrer 1940 ‘lo Oka Gramam” won the National award for the best film category in the Telugu language for 2009.
1940 lo Oka Graamam is a Telugu movie with actors and actress like Baladhitya, Shree, Rallapalle, Mukkuraju, Rama Krishna, Rajitha, Sri Latha, Sai Lakshmi. The tale or story of this movie is been taken or carried from a village near side to sea. Sri and Baladitya are the main and significant hero and daring female of this film. This movie is based and depends upon a story called Ghosha which was written by a well-known writer Gurajada Appa Rao.
The film that deals with some socially relevant issues like caste, creed and behavior towards women, is directed by Narasimha Nandi and jointly produced by Nandisreddy Narasimha Reddy and Juvvisetti Sriravamma, for Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Cinema.
Movie Review
A film made with high artistic values and with a hard-hitting message never saw a theatrical release in the Telugu-speaking state. It was shown to some 30-odd distributors, who did not want to release the film because it did not boast of commercial elements. Months later, it went to win three Nandi Awards and now, the National Film Award for Best Regional Film.
Directed by Narasimha Nandi, who says he took nearly a year's time to craft the story, the film stars Bala Aditya and Shree, while it is produced by Nandireddy Narasimha Reddy. Also, actors like Rallapalli, Mukkuraju, Rama Krishna, Rajitha, Sri Latha and Sai Lakshmi are seen in the film.
Based on the literary work Ghosha, by Gurujada Appa Rao, the film deals with the love affair of a youth and a fisher woman in a coastal village, who are given the punishment of shaving their heads, when they are found romancing on sea shore. They are declared as out castes by the village heads, when they live a terrible life.
The recognition at the 56th National Film Awards is something the makers will long cherish.
