Sex and the City 2 (2010)" Story:
It's a chick flick and I liked it.
I was part of the crowd at the Showcase Cinemas in Manchester Monday that got to see SATC 2 days before anyone else around here. It was the perfect ladies night out.
From the decadent story line that tracks the newest twists and turns of life for the four fab gal pals (I won't spoil the story) to the $10 million worth of clothes they wear within the 146-minute show (think Dress and the City), it was just fun. slide_7041_93250_large[1]_opt.jpgI have to say though, that on the reality meter at my house, watching Charlotte decorate a kitchen full of cupcakes in white, vintage Valentino is right up there with Donna Reed vacumning in high heels and pearls.)
Most of those I talked to cut out of work early to get to the WTIC 96.5 and WZMX HOT 93.7 -sponsored movie premiere, that also included a "get you in the mood" two-hour long happy hour that started at 4:30 p.m.

There were a couple of brave guys there too, sans high heels, who shyly admitted they were fans of the former "Sex and the City" television show.
By the way, the New York City premiere was also Monday night and there were a couple of Connecticut connections on that red carpet including former WFSB Channel 3 anchor slide_7041_93201_large[1]_opt.jpgGayle King, with on again,off again beau Mayor Cory Booker, and of course Glastonbury native, Connecticut resident and author Candace Bushnell,(with husband Charles Askegard) who started it all with her book "Sex and the City."
So if you have the SATC 2 bug, you still have a chance to party as though you were in Manhattan. Burtons Grill in South Windsor is having a bash on Thursday from 4 to 10 p.m. with character-inspired cocktails and a drawing for free tickets to the show at Showcase IMAX Buckland Hill. .
Over at Blue Back Square in West Hartford, Kimberly Boutique and Per Se Aveda will be throwing a private party Thursday at 6 p.m. at Kim Matson's boutique on Farmington Avenue with the anticipated high -heeled clad guests doing a "Manolo March" to Bow Ties Cinemas there.
Another group has a little soiree planned for Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. at Flemings in West Hartford and then will head over for the midnight screening of the movie at the same theater. . d.
Sex and the City 2 (2010)" SYNOPSIS
Carrie, Samantha, Charlotte and Miranda take another bite out of the Big Apple in the sequel to the 2008 blockbuster. Returning in their starring roles, as the four great friends are Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon. Of course, where would these women be without their men? Also back for the much-anticipated sequel are Chris Noth as Mr. Big, David Eigenberg as Steve, Evan Handler as Harry, Jason Lewis as Smith, Mario Cantone as Anthony and Willie Garson as Stanford Blatch.
"Sex and the City 2" also reunites the original creative team from the series and the first feature. Michael Patrick King is once again directing from his own screenplay.
King is also producing with John Melfi, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Darren Star. The executive producers are Toby Emmerich, Richard Brener and Marcus Viscidi. Also returning will be director of photography John Thomas, production designer Jeremy Conway, composer Aaron Zigman and costume designer Patricia Field.
