Director Susindran (Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu fame) started filming next project ‘Naan Mahan Alla’ before few months and the sources have mentioned that the film has completed its shooting now.

Karthi’s upcoming release ‘Naan Mahan Alla’ is produced by K.E. Gnyanavel Rajan of Studio Green Films. This is the Independence day gift by the director Susindran for the big screen buffs as the movie is expected to release by August 13th.
Karthi is starred opposite Kajal Agarwal. And the music score is by Yuvan Shankar Raja. Karthi’s next film is a remake of Vikramakudu is fast rolling on the floors and is expected to be completed within short span of time. This untitled remake brings back Karthi and Thamannah together after the runaway success of ‘Paiyya’.

NAAN MAHAAN ALLA 2010 Story

Naan Mahaan Alla is a thriller which revolves around the relationship between a rich father and his son. Karthik Sivakumar and Kajal Aggarwal in lead. 
Here is good news for all Karthi fans! The actor's upcoming Naan Mahaan Alla will reportedly grace theatres on July 23, 2010. Naan Mahan Alla, directed by Suseendran of Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu fame, is expected to showcase the romantic side of Karthi in a script designed by Suseendran and backed by the music of Yuvanshankar Raja. And for the first time in their careers, Tollywood sensation Kajal Aggarwal will team up with Karthi in this film. Durai Dhayanidhi's Cloud Nine Movies has acquired the release rights of this film.

“After three hits I wanted to be careful about my next, till I listened to Suseendran’s script, which had an inspiring protagonist. That’s how Naan Mahaan Alla (NMA) happened,” Karthi said at the recent press meet.

“I play Jeeva, an unassuming, middle-class city boy who sees life from a positive perspective. It’s a lively character. The core of the story is about how a certain incident drags him into committing a crime. There are hardly any dialogues in the second half, where music and emotions dominate. It’s a bit like Suseendran’s earlier hit, Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu.” he added.

“The movie belongs to Karthi. In contrast to his suave, stylish look in Paiyaa, here he plays a local Chennai boy. Karthi adapted himself beautifully to the new character in every possible way, whether it was body language, looks or diction. The combo of Yuvan and Karthi has always worked wonders at the box office and this project is no exception. Yuvan’s music is a big plus,” director Suseendran said.

Reportedly, the film will be dubbed and released in Telugu simultaneously. The film is produced by Gnanavel Raja and Madhie handles the camera..

The film Naan Mahaan Alla is said to be a "total city subject". The movie is shot entirely in Chennai. An action family entertainer, the film would deal about problems in city life.
The movie revolves around the relationship between a rich father and his son.

Studio Green’s Gnanavel Raja held a press meet to announce that his Karthi - Kajol Agarwal starrer Naan Mahaan Alla, directed by Suseenthiran is ready for release in July
Those present at the meet included hero Karthi, director Suseenthiran, cinematographer Mathi, editor Kasi Viswanath, dialogue writer Baskar Sakthi and producer Gnanavel. The film will be marketed by Cloud Nine.

The Paiyaa team of Karthi, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja and cameraman Mathi are together again in NMA. Says director Suseenthiran: “If my earlier film Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu had a village milieu, NMA has a city background. The film belongs to Karthi and Pasanga fame Jayaprakash who plays his dad” 

NMA story in a nutshell is about a happy go lucky guy played by Karthi being drawn into a cesspool of crime after an incident changes his life. Kajol plays what the director says “a cute girl, something similar to what Asin did in Ghajani”. 
Karthi says: “ Suseenthiran says that my character in NMA is similar in nature to the moody yet jovial characterization of Karthik in Mani Sir’s Mouna Ragam. The film is racy and I play Jeeva, a typical middle class Chennai youth and the story is a slice of life in a big city. It is a stylish yet realistic film.” 

Naan Mahaan Alla, is slated for release on July 23. It is going to be Karthi’s fourth release, in three years and the third this year after Aayirathil Oruvan and Paiyaa. 

Karthi is one of the hottest stars of this year with three consecutive hit films. This year he had the first super hit ‘Paiyaa’ publicising his ability. ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ is his fourth film. The title has reused taken an old Rajinikanth film released in 1984. That had Rajini and Radha and this new film has Karthi and Kajal Agarwal. The similarities end there. The story of Karthi’s ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ has no resemblance to the super star film. While that was a story of lawyer who becomes the    nemesis of the villains, the new film is all about a wishful romantic.  

‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ directed by Suseendran of ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’ fame. This is a different film for the director as his first film was set in a village backdrop and ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ is a city-centric flick. This film is produced by K.E Gnanavel Rajan of Studio Green Films in collaboration with S.R. Prakash Babu and S.R. Prabhu. Studio Green is the banner which gave riveting films like ‘Sillunu Oru Kadhal’ and ‘Paruthi Veeran’.

The heart of the film is about the bonding of a serious father and a romantic son, laced with the criminal backdrops of Chennai. Karthi plays the role of Jeeva, a typical middle-class Chennai youngster with a devil-may-care attitude, who is drawn into the world of crime and criminals after a particular incident changes his life. Jayaprakash after his superb performances in ‘Pasanga’ and ‘Naadodigal’, plays the role of Karthi’s father.

The hottie in Telugu after the blockbuster ‘Magadheera’, Kajal Agarwal is the heroine of the film. In Tamil, she was last seen in Saran’s ‘Modhi Vilayadu’. Her character in ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ is cute and bubbly, something on the lines of what Asin played in ‘Ghajini’, says the director.

This film will be an extension of Karthi’s image in ‘Paiyaa’. According to the director Suseendran Karthi’s role in this film is almost the same as senior Karthik’s role in Mani Ratnam's ‘Mouna Raagam’. This film will showcase another romantic side of Karthi ala Paiyaa, sources say.

A combination that made ‘Paiyaa’ a success, music director Yuvan Shankar Raja and cinematographer Mathi are back together in this film. Songwriters are Na. Muthukumar, Yugabharathy and Francis while Bhaskar Sakthi has penned dialogues. Rajeevan is in charge of the art department.

Director Suseendran assures that ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ contains 100% entertainment factors with the right mix of comedy, romance, action and sentiments. Karthi had said,” When director Suseendran was narrating the first half of the story I was laughing. I asked him whether I would be suitable for the role of an ordinary middle income youth. He said I will fit the role. For the first time I rehearsed for this film. I rehearsed for one week.”

Now that the film is taken over by Dhayanidhi Alagiri’s Cloud Nine Movies, it will leave no stone unturned to reach the masses in every nook and corner.

‘Naan Mahaan Alla’ will be stylish as well as realistic. The film which started in September 2009 has been scheduled for release in August 2010.

I enjoyed acting romantic scenes in Naan Mahaan

Karthi unabashedly admits that the parts of the film he enjoyed most were the love scenes between him and heroine Kaajal Agarwal.

When it was Suseenthiran’s turn, he commented: “The movie belongs to Karthi. In contrast to his suave, stylish look in Paiyaa, here he plays a local Chennai boy. Karthi adapted himself beautifully to the new character in every possible way, whether it was body language, looks or diction.” The combo of Yuvan and Karthi has always worked wonders at the box office and this project is no exception. Yuvan’s music is a big plus, claimed the director.

Slated for release this July, and produced by Gnanavel Raja, the cinematography is by Madhie.
