Veluthu Kattu is a film produced by S A Chandrasekaran under the banner Star Makers. While speaking about this film, he said,” I had come up to Chengalpattu in train without ticket. From there I walked up to Chennai. After crossing so many hurdles, I became successful. I have directed 65 films so far. I have introduced many people including Vijayakanth, Rehaman, Vijay, Simran, music composer Bharani. In Veluthu Kattu I have introduced hero Kadhir, director Senapathimagan and heroine Arundhathi. This film is a compilation of certain incidents that happened in my life. The film is about a youth who comes from Madurai to Chennai. The hurdles he faces and how he overcomes it is the rest of the story. These days the struggling character in the youth has come down. This film will bring out this.”
S.A. Chandrasekaran is back with Veluthu Kattu
Fiilmmaker S.A. Chandrasekaran (Vijay's father), who has directed more than 65 films, is back with his next venture Veluthu Kattu directed by his assistant Senapathy Magan. “The story has been inspired by incidents in my life from when I was 7 to 25 years old and the lead character, played by Kadhir, is a reflection of me on screen. The movie has given me enormous creative satisfaction,” he said to a leading English daily.
“It’s about young man in a village and how the arrival of a girl and their subsequent romance changes him. The lead pair Kadhir and Arundhathi really got into the skin of characters. I’ve experienced the power of love in my life which has been translated on canvas. Even though the hero is a ruffian, there are no violent scenes in the film. The film has a message for today’s youth who are very vulnerable,” he added.
Vijay & ‘Veluthu Kattu’
The audio CD of ‘Veluthu Kattu’, a film produced by S A Chandrasekaran, was released in Chennai on Wednesday by Vijay. The first copy was received by Kushboo who spoke on length on the lack of Tamil actresses in Kollywood.
“There are a lot of beautiful girls in Tamil Nadu. But our filmmakers are willing to rope in north Indian actresses. However, Chandrasekaran has introduced a Tamil girl as the heroine in this film,” she said.
In his address, Vijay said his father always believed in giving opportunities to freshers than going behind established artistes. “He has created many stars including Vijayakanth, Rahman and Simran,” he said.
Describing Chandrasekaran as a pillar of strength, the actor said, “He always stood behind me. He is the one who would rescue me whenever I am in trouble. I am indebted to him a lot.” ‘Veluthu Kattu’, directed by Senapathimagan, has music score by Bharani.
Others who had attended the audio launch function include Tamil Film Producers Council president Rama Narayanan, Theatre Owners Association chief Abirami Ramanathan, FEFSI president V C Guhanathan and hero and heroine of the movie Kadhir and Arundhathi.
Vijay Releases ‘Veluthu Kattu’ Audio
Director S A Chandrasekharan's production venture 'Veluthu Kattu' had its audio launch yesterday. Ilaya Thalapathi released the audio in the presence of celebrities like FEFSI President V C Guhanathan, Producers R B Chaudary, Kalaipuli S Thanu, Rama. Narayanan, Actor Parthiban, and Lyricists Na. Muthukumar, Snehan. Actress Kushboo received the first copy of the audio CD.
'Veluthu Kattu' is written and directed by Senapathymagan has music by Barani/Sukumar. The film launches two new faces Kadhir and Aarthi.
Speaking at the function S A Chandrasekharan said “I launched Vijayakanth in ‘Sattam Oru Iruttarai’. I introduced Rahman to Tamil cinema with ‘Nilave Malarey’. Later I launched Vijay in ‘Nalaiya Theerpu’. All the actors who were introduced by me have made a mark,” he said.
The veteran filmmaker added: “Likewise, I am launching two new faces Kadhir and Aarthi in ‘Veluthu Kattu’, a film directed by Senapathimagan. I am hopeful that these two would capture your hearts with their performance.”
