Affectees provided shelter in poultry farms in Sindh SHAHDADKOT: Floods continue to wreak havoc in Sindh where hundreds of villages in Shahdadkot and Qubo Saeed Khan give a deserted look after their residents shifted to safer places in fear of expected floods while a large number of people are still stranded in flooded parts of Sindh.

Raging floods are still pushing hard at Aaqil Agani, Puranabad and Hassan Wahni embankments. However, water level at these points has witnessed a decline.

Most of the displaced families from interior parts of Sindh are moving toward Hyderabad and Karachi for shelter while many are also taking refuge in relief camps set up in Larkana.

On the other hand, a large number people are taking shelter under bridges and open sky on self-help basis in areas located on Sindh-Balochistan border.

Floods are still running strong at embankments in Khairpur. Rescue operation is underway for evacuation of hundreds of marooned people in Gambat and Sobho Dero while a large number of people trapped in swamped areas are still awaiting help.

The local administration of Thatta has converted many poultry farms in relief camps where hundreds of flood victims are being provided refuge.

The portion of Dadu-Moro road washed away by floods has not yet been repaired and as a result many districts remain cut off for the past three days.

A woman and three children drowned when a boat carrying affectees to safer places capsized in Gachero area of Naushehro Feroz.
