Life may not be what we think it is. What we see is merely our perception and the truth or reality, as one may call it, might be a completely different thing. Today, we live a perfectly normal life, no complications, no questions, and tomorrow we might wake up querying ourselves about all sorts of aspects of our inner or outer existence.

One day, Jeanne (Sophie Marceau) is a successful writer, a happy wife and a caring mother of two children, but suddenly things start changing in a way she can neither anticipate nor comprehend.

What happens when a group of best friends from college reunite after 4 years; a pleasant mix of comedy, romance and slices of life that all of us can associate with. 3 nights and 4 days starring youthful stars like Samir Aftab and Hrishita Bhatt promises to be a surprisingly refreshing change for our recession stricken movie industry. The movie is about 6 friends who come together in Goa for 3 nights and 4 days to attend the wedding of Rocky (Samir Aftab) with his two year old girlfriend Marianne. But things are not the same with Rahul, Priya and Zoha; they have been busy making their careers and have different ideologies, whereas Amay and Antara are the same. The central role is being played Samir Aftab as Rocky, who is a trained musician and is settled in Goa. Rocky’s talents have always landed him at the right places, and he plays as the lead guy in a popular Jazz band in the beautiful city of Goa. He met his wife to be Marianne during a concert and now they are settling down together. The friends come together to remember old times, have fun on the beach and enjoy the wedding of their best friend. But surprises and emotional roller coasters are in store as they all witness Marianne backing away from the commitment of marriage. The story shows how the group evolves with each other and convinces Marianne to come back with Samir as she soon realizes that falling in love with Rocky was the best thing to happen to her. Throw in some very catchy songs, hilarious moments and romance in the air; and you have the perfect recipe for a feel good film to be enjoyed by everyone.

While for the most part, he’s been overshadowed by his elder brother Anu, composer Daboo Malik has steadily been making his mark within the music industry for a long time now. With films like Shaadi Karke Phas Gaya Yaar and Kisaan under his belt, Daboo now returns with his latest release, titled 3 Nights 4 Days, which is releasing on 9 October 2009. And he does quite well for himself…

Directed by Devang Dholakia, 3 Nights 4 Days is a youthful flick starring Anuj Sawhney and Hrishita Bhatt along with a host of newcomers; and like the film, its soundtrack, with Daboo at its helm, is similarly geared towards the youth in the listeners.

Khawahishein, the opening number of the album, sees Sunidhi and Daboo himself on vocal duties. A bit too heavy on the techno sounds and beats, the song works nonetheless, as Sunidhi Chauhan works her magic. While Daboo is average as a vocalist, son Amal Malik’s fast-paced arrangement ensures that the song doesn’t slag when he’s on the mic. Not exactly the one that’ll turn into a club anthem, Khawahishein is still a good start.

Sheesha brings Neeraj Shreedhar to the mic with Sunidhi. A fast-paced track again, Malik gives this one a bit of a Middle-Eastern feel, in tune and vocals. While the Hin-glish lyrics are a bit jarring, the groove of the track is quite captivating.

Amal Malik sounds a bit too much like a karaoke singer on the under-produced Jaane Yeh Kaisi, which might just be the weakest link on the album. Something in the vein of the numerous Atif Aslam tracks doing the rounds of Bollywood, the song is hampered by Amal’s less-than-competent vocals and doesn’t garner a second listen from the audience.

Daboo does well to pick up the slack with Har Mausam, the only ballad on the album. Akriti Kakkar and Soham sound perfect on the vocals and the soft, toned down arrangement adds to the mood. Malik’s composition also accommodates lyricist Panchhi Jalonvi’s English interludes and makes sure that the track stays in a listener’s mind for a long time.

Shaan and Sunidhi come in strong on Dosti…Forever, the peppy follow-on to the previous ballad. The foot-tapping composition and the light arrangement use the two singers’ voices perfectly and make the track a very catchy listen.

Macha Shor, which could be called the title track of the album, brings back Amal Malik to the mic, along with Shweta. The Mediterranean sound and the fast-pace help the track and Amal sounds much better than his previous track. The Hin-glish lyrics, with its Spanish sounding interludes, penned by Amal himself, are catchy, and when the track ends, one could be surprised to find oneself asking for more.


The remaining tracks, Marianne’s Sorrow, Dosti Theme, Retro Party3 Nights 4 Days Theme and are all instrumental or semi-instrumental shorts. Marianne’s Sorrow is a short instrumental track arranged to sound a bit foreboding, Retro Party isn’t much more than instrumental stock music drawn and arranged from the ’80s. Dosti Theme and 3 Nights 4 Days Theme are simply short, reduxed versions of Dosti…Forever and Macha Shor respectively and could be considered fillers on the album.

Overall, while album has its weak points, especially some of the choices for vocalists and the lyrics, they are outnumbered by the strengths of the album. Daboo Malik’s compositions are all well-etched and arranged and while there isn’t a lot of variety to it, 3 Nights 4 Days is a commendable effort from the composer.

The movie’s hero, Cooper, awakes to find himself nauseous, weak and covered in webbing, hanging from the ceiling of an office where, just minutes ago, he started his new job. As he struggles out of his slimy prison he comes face to face with his opponent – a grotesque, powerful and very angry bug – all 3 ft of it. He then begins his search to find a safe haven while constantly outwitting an infestation of monstrous proportions. As Cooper embarks on his journey, he befriends a ragtag group of survivors including Sara, a feisty attractive female. Although the situation is dire, Cooper can’t help himself from trying to solve his dating problem while trying to save his life.

I caught this movie late at night on the SyFy channel. I expected it to be a terrible CGI-fest (like most of the movies they show that I haven’t heard of before), but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s actually very well written; kind of a second-string Shaun of the Dead (so, in other words, better than most movies I’ve paid to see in theaters lately).

The plot is fairly unpredictable for this genre, meaning that it goes basically where everyone watching it wants it to go in the end, but it gets there in a way you won’t entirely see coming (I call BS on reviews that claim otherwise). But the real reasons to watch this movie are the genuinely witty writing and the subtle comic performances of the cast. The worst you could say about this movie is that it’s derivative of Shaun of the Dead. Personally, I’m totally okay with that.

Four volunteers sign up for what initially appears to be a typical paid research study, only to discover that they’ve unwittingly become involved with a classified government program that was said to have been terminated nearly two decades ago, in this tense psychological thriller from director Jonathan Liebesman. The allure of a little extra cash proving too powerful to resist, four strangers decide to partake in a paid research study. As the study gets underway, the group is presented with a series of questions, and given a finite window of time in which each individual member must submit a unique numerical answer. At first, the participants all assume that the subject who gives the most obviously incorrect answer will be removed from the experiment, though it doesn’t take long for the group to realize that the correct answer isn’t always the answer that the researchers are looking for. Meanwhile, as the brooding Dr. Phillips (Peter Stormare) attempts to manipulate the study to get the answers he wants, the newest member of his team, military psychologist Ms. Reilly (Chloe Sevigny) begins questioning the ethics of such a diabolical experiment.

Review

This goes to one of the worst movies i have seen list.
Whole movie is shot in one room. Director seems impressed with saw series and tried to create similar one room kind of horror/thriller, but sorry to say it’s an awful story and end leaves a really bad taste in the mouth. I love saw series not to mention but this movie is nothing more than a low budget, cheaply done poor scripted movie!!!

I don’t think this movie even can make it to theater but if it did I feel sorry for the the people who paid the money to watch this horrible movie.

And on top of that director has a balls to let the viewers know that there will be part 2

I was completely honest with actress Michelle Monaghan yesterday when I told her, right at the beginning of a one-on-one interview, that I’d been waiting a long time to watch her come alive in a role. In her relatively short career, Monaghan has already racked up quite the resume — appearing in films like Mission Impossible III, Gone Baby Gone, The Bourne Supremacy, The Heartbreak Kid and the soon-to-be-released Made of Honor. She’s got a great, girl-next-door quality about her, but is she memorable? The good news here is that Monaghan finally delivered the sort of performance I’ve known was trapped somewhere inside her, hidden behind a variety of big, flashy Hollywood films. “Peter and Vandy” is a love story told out of order. Set in Manhattan, the story shifts back and forth in time, juxtaposing Peter and Vandy’s romantic beginnings with the twisted, manipulative, regular couple they become. Plot
For years, journalists have pontificated at length on the importance of modernist architecture in contemporary society, even dissecting its angles, proportions, and overall aesthetics. Movie Story

Blue is the first Bollywood underwater movie which is full of action, adventure and thriller. The story revolves around a treasure lays buried deep at the bottom of an ocean. There are many people who want to get there by risking life, be it theirs or someone else’s.

Get ready to watch Bollywood’s most expensive film till date – ‘Blue’, with a budget of over Rs 100 crores. Blue Hindi MovieIt is also India’s first ‘official’ underwater film, based on the concept of a shipwreck and a treasure buried along with it. The movie has been directed by Anthony D’Souza, who has tried to give it a truly international feel, by hiring many top notch technicians from Hollywood. Then, there is also Australian singing sensation Kylie Minogue, who has sung for the film and also features in a song, with Akki.

The star cast of ‘Blue’ has Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt and Zayed Khan as the male leads, while Katrina Kaif and Lara Dutta are the leading ladies. The film also has appearances by Suniel Shetty and Rahul Dev. The music has been provided by none other than the Oscar-winning musician A. R. Rahman, while Abbas Tyrewala and Mayur Puri have penned down the lyrics. Falling in the action genre and produced by Dhilin Mehta, the Hindi film is all set to be released on October 16, 2009, under the banner ‘Shri Ashtavinayak Cine Visions’.

‘Blue’ takes you into the depth of the Pacific Ocean, where a shipwreck has been resting for ages. With time, many fables have come to be associated with the ruined ship, of which one revolves around a treasure buried deep inside. Lured by the alleged riches, many treasure hunters have dived into the ocean. However, none of them has ever come back, with or without the wealth. Rather, the bloody trail of treasure hunters has added even more fascinating rumors to the alleged fortune, waiting to be discovered.

It is said that the treasure buried 250 feet deep into the sea is not only unreachable, but also dangerous. The reason – it is guarded by deadly sharks night and day. Now, three men have come to seek this treasure – Aarav (Akshay Kumar), Sagar (Sanjay Dutt) and Sam (Zayed Khan). Each one of them has a different motive behind his hunt for the riches. For Aarav, a filthy-rich guy, finding the treasure will give him a new high, while its search will allow him to seek the additional risk that makes life a thrilling venture.

Plot

Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna revolves around the story of Samir Khanna (Salman Khan) and Raina Khanna (Kareena Kapoor) who have a fairytale marriage. Samir gets his dream job and they have a great life until one wrong decision leads them to part their ways.

"Hello, this is entirely the story of Khannas. Kahaani poori Mr. aur Mrs. Khanna ki hai! Yes, Sohail does play a third angle in the film and his character is quite substantial too. "God bless all these sources and their plug-ins", says Prem in a cheeky tone, "The movie has two lead actors - Salman (Khan) and Kareena (Kapoor). Of course Sohail is important as he represents the 'main' part of MAIN AURR MRS. KHANNA. He sees a lot of things from his point of view which perhaps Salman can't. Having said that, he has a lot of on-screen interaction with both."

Talking about Sohail being roped in for the part of Aakash, Prem adds, "Once Salman agreed to do the film, he made me meet Sohail. After going through the narration, he too was game for the role. In number of movies we have seen Salman and Sohail fighting out, though in a comical way, for a girl. Rest assured, you will see an altogether different interaction between the two this time around."

Synopsis

It is interesting to note that Mohanlal and Poonima debuted into films together in the eighties with the movie ‘Manjil Virinja Pookal’ where Lal's character was Villainish, trying to seize Poornima's character from her lover. Movie Review

I had the awesome privilege of being able to see Thomas Jane’s new film, Dark Country at the Long Beach Comic Con. The best part is that we got to see it in 3D with Thomas Jane! If you didn’t already know, Jane both directed and stared in the film, along with Lauren German and Ron Perlman. We’ve been covering the progress of this film since we first heard about it and I’ve been looking forward to seeing this film for quite some time now.

If you’re a movie geek that likes The Twilight Zone and film noir then Dark Country is a movie I think you will really enjoy. It mixes the two types of film styles and story telling techniques extremely well. The story is fun, engaging and campy but in a good way. If it didn’t have the campiness factor to it then it wouldn’t have been as enjoyable as it was. The way the film was shot, and the style of acting that was implemented, helped enhance the world and story that Thomas Jane wanted to tell us.

The movie follows a recently married couple traveling to their honeymoon destination from Las Vegas. Along the way they get distracted, miss a couple of turns and get lost. As they backtrack through the heat infested desert looking for the right road, they come across a bloody unrecognizable body from a major car wreck lying in the road, his face is pretty much gone. As bad as the guy looks they find that he isn’t dead. They put the jacked up guy in the car to help him and try to get him to a hospital. It is at this point that the couples trip turns into one hell of a fun and crazy ride with an unexpected outcome.

The film was shot beautifully! That’s one of it’s strongest qualities. Each shot was set up perfectly and looked like a work of art. It had a very clean slick feel to it that gave the film a very high quality polish. This movie has a very heavy film noir style and it’s done brilliantly. The lighting techniques and camera angles are fantastic in replicating and bringing the 1940’s and 1950’s style of filmmaking back to life. This style worked perfectly for the 3D element that was added to the film.

I am seriously sad that you wont get to see this movie in 3D anytime soon. The 3D in the film was never used as a gimmick. It was 100% used to enhance your experience and pull you into the story. The 3D and film noir style blended perfectly! It was amazing at how awesome it looked. Hopefully one day you will get to experience Dark Country in its 3D glory. If not don’t worry, the movie is still really good.

Dark Country was Thomas Jane’s first directing gig and he did a great job taking the script written by Tab Murphy and turning it into a visually stunning masterpiece. I would love to see him direct another film.

Dark Country is not for everybody, It starts out a little slow and is very different from what you are used to seeing in at the movies, which is one of the reasons I liked it so much. It’s not afraid to be different and try something new. I recommend that you give this

Nemo Nobody is a wild-haired bum sleeping on a park bench. Are any of these things true? Are any false? If we refuse to choose between them can they not all be true simultaneously? This is the central question of Jaco van Dormael's gorgeous, experimental, incredibly high-concept science fiction feature Mr Nobody.

Jared Leto is Mr Nobody, the oldest man in the world - or at least the oldest living mortal, humanity having adopted technology that allows for continuous regeneration. His time is coming, he will soon be dead, and what everybody wants to know is what life was like for this relic. But the answers he gives are contradictory and confused. Was he raised by his mother or his father? Did he marry Elise, Anna or Jean? Was he a success? A failure? Is he truly present in the room or did he die young? To hear him speak all are true simultaneously, or could it be simply the ravings of a senile old man?

Though never mentioned specifically, van Dormael draws heavily on the uncertainty principal, Schrodinger's theories of quantum paradox and the parallel universe theory - the theory that the universe splits whenever you make a decision, allowing countless versions of yourself to be alive simultaneously, in parallel, living out every possible version of your life - in crafting his beautifully executed tale that ultimately boils down to the simple story of a boy who wants to be loved.

When his parents separated in his childhood, Nemo was faced with a simple but horrible decision, a decision no child should have to make: Which parent did he want to live with? It is a decision he simply can not make, a decision he refuses to make and in that moment of refusal Nemo simply comes unstuck from regular, linear time,, instead experiencing all possible options simultaneously, slipping between universes as if through a dream. Often literally through dreams. What will life be like with this parent? What with that? What if I love this girl? What if that? That went horribly wrong, can I rewind and take a different path? Why, yes, yes I can ...

Sumptuously crafted and loaded with stellar performances - Sarah Polley, Diane Kruger and Rhys Ifans are the more recognizable members of the support cast, but all are excellent whether recognizable or not - Mr Nobody is a film that simply refuses to function according to the rules of conventional narrative. It's a slippery beast, one that slides constantly between alternate options, alternate threads, and it is very much to Van Dormael's credit that would could have been an incredibly confusing structure remains quite simple to follow. That said, however, the shape of the thing will be quite daunting for many audiences - particularly when considering it's whopping one hundred and forty minute run time, factors that guarantee that while Mr Nobody will find a loyal and appreciative audience it will likely be a small one.

Gorgeous to look at and deeply heartfelt, Van Dormael's return to directing after a thirteen year absence is one of the most strikingly original entries in the scifi canon in quite some time. A truly unique experience, there is nothing else out there quite like it. A hypnotic experience meant to be experienced more than puzzled over it somehow manages to use its concepts and theories without ever becoming beholden to them and to transcend the ideas with emotion. Though it arguably runs significantly longer than it needs to, Mr Nobody comes with a high recommendation for fans of serious scifi.

A romantic trip to China turns into a lunar nightmare for a pair of happy newlyweds when their taxi driver ditches them in a remote village, and the locals offer them up as sacrifices for the menacing moon creatures that return to Earth annually to replenish their ranks. This morning we scored the first casting news for Modercine’s latest Jack Ketchum adaptation, Offspring, which will be directed by Andrew Van Den Houten. OFFSPRING features veteran actor of film and television Art Hindle (The Brood, Invasion of the Body Snatchers) and actress Polyanna McIntosh, with Tommy Nelson, Spencer List, Michael Biehn and John Savage rounding out the cast. SYNOPSIS

A deadly prehistoric parasite is released when a Woolly Mammoth is discovered in a melting ice cap. Faced with a potentially global epidemic, four ecology students must destroy the parasite before it reaches the rest of civilization. Plot 1

At a remote Arctic research station, four ecology students discover the real horror of global warming is not the melting ice, but what’s frozen within it. A prehistoric parasite is released from the carcass of a Woolly Mammoth upon the unsuspecting students who are forced to quarantine and make necessary sacrifices, or risk infecting the rest of the world.

Plot 2

The Thaw (aka Frozen – Etwas hat überlebt – German DVD title) is an upcoming sci-fi horror/thriller film directed by Mark A. Lewis starring Val Kilmer and Martha MacIsaac.

Story

Credibility in a horror film isn’t something that I usually pay any attention to unless it has to do with the acting, actions or dialogue. I usually leave premise out of it because I know Jason Voorhees, the Candyman or Freddie Kreuger don’t really exist. However, when a film harps on about a very real topic like Global Warming throughout the entire film, it subconsciously takes on a realism that is quickly derailed by the incredible beast that it unleashes. A beast that could easily be seen as the dominant species at the time yet shares almost nothing in common with the dominate species of today.

The relatively unknown cast played their parts competently enough but no one shines due to mediocre writing and dialogue but there were numerous times when either the writing or directing was just completely off and full conversations were taking place in areas no sane/intelligent person, let alone a full cast, would stay in.

Realism obviously wasn’t an issue for the filmmakers but by harping on about Global Warming and then introducing such a powerful parasite I really had to wonder if this was a true attempt at a Global Warming warning or an Anti-Global Warming film showing how ludicrous the concept is. In either case, I would have rather it was played down ten-fold so I could have at least enjoyed what I could from the film.

Plot :

Movie Review

I guess that George Romero’s son has seen Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Hills Have Eyes and all of the cliché movies that followed them. The story, while understandable, is not well defined. It had a very slow beginning and then the meat of the story was vague. Some of the effects were good, the acting was good, but no matter how good you are, if your story is not solid, it all falls apart. The story is about some young people hitching a ride. They make friend with a guy that has stopped at a gas station to add water to his truck. He offers them a ride and of course the truck breaks down. They go to the nearest house they can find, but no one answers the door. Since it is starting to rain, they all decide to stay the night in the barn. When they wake up the next morning, the meet the family that owns the farm. Buddy is the simple minded adult male, then we have his mom, then we have her mom. They family is very welcoming and serves them breakfast. After breakfast they try to find a mode of transportation. Then the weak story starts.

Movie Story

Ming Feng (Xie Yu Ting) is a high school swimmer, his father Xie Hao Xiang (Lin Li Yang) was also a swimmer in his younger days. He gets training under coach Zhuang Qing Mu (Huang Zhong Kun) who is also his father’s ex-classmate. Having failed in his previous attempt to win medals during the swimming competition he sets high hope for Ming Feng to win gold medal.

However, the son hates his father due to his past actions. Ming Feng is angry with his father because previously he gave her deceased mother who was having breast cancer a wrong medication which caused her the death and his father did not honor his promise of buying a present after he had won a gold medal in a swimming competition. Due to this he decides to quit swimming for good.

One day while becoming an audience in a swimming competition he witnesses a swimmer who is born without legs, Da Da (Chen Liang Da) taking part in a swimming competition. Da Da’s strong determination although born with physical disability make him feel touched and he decides to make a comeback in the swimming competition. Will Ming Feng win gold medal once again and improves the relationship with his father?
