Movie Plot
The last week movie releases included Badmaash Company, Hai Mar Jawaan and few more. Where on one side Shahid Kapoor’s Badmaash Company opened with a great start, Gurinder Chadha’s Hai Mar Jawaan could not attract a big crowd. Though the movie went well on the first day, the audience were seen disappearing from the very next day.
For those who do not know, let us tell that Hai Mar Jawaan is the Hindi version of It’s a Wonderful Afterlife. Gurinder Chadha is the director of this movie and the same person had directed the fabulous flick Bend it Like Beckham. But this time Gurinder could not do according to the expectations.
It’s a wonderful Afterlife or Hai Mar jawaan could not make it big at the box office and was unable to attract a good crowd. The plot of the movie was quite simple and was based on the Brit- Punjabi immigrant movie besides the main theme.
Movie Synopsis
Director Gurinder Chadha of Bend It Like Beckham fame is back with a romantic comedy thriller, It’s A Wonderful Afterlife, starring Shabana Azmi and US-based actor Sendhil Ramamurthy. The film will release in India in English and its dubbed Hindi version, tentatively titled, Hai Mar Jawan.
Presented by Indian Films in association with Studio 18, the film is a humorous account of a London-based Punjabi mother’s desperate measures to get her fat daughter married to a tall, dark and handsome hunk.
The film will release in the UK, where Gurinder is better known for her films like Bride And Prejudice and Angus, Thongs And Perfect Snogging, on April 21. The UK launch will happen through two red carpet premieres, in London on April 12 and a regional premiere in Birmingham on April 14.
