Movie Synopsis
Kata Thudarunu is a 2010 Malayalam film by Sathyan Anthikkad. The main lead pair in the film are Jayaram and Mamta Mohandas. This film Kadha Tudarunnu is the 50th film of Sathyan Anthikkad’s career as a director. Kadha Thudarum story – Vidyalakshmi (Mamta Mohandas) decides to start a life with her love, Shanavas (Asif Ali), by challenges the dictates of her family. Shanavas too faces severe opposition from his family members since he gets married to a girl from another caste. Soon they have a daughter whom they name Laya. However fate has in store for Vidya something else, and soon she is left stranded in a busy city along with her kid.Its here that she comes across an auto driver Preman (Jayaram) who leads her on to a different life. She starts living in a colony and gets to meet people who value minds more than money.
Movie Review
Sathyan Anthikad yet again named his movie, only just a couple of weeks before its release. Titled as ‘Katha Thudarum’, the movie is a look on Urban Malayalees and their posh life. Mamta Mohandas’s Role is mother of a five year old girl whose husband had deserted her and Jayaram acting as an Auto Driver who comes to her rescue. This makes Mamatha more attached to Jayaram's life and Jayaram tries to avoid it and from there the story goes to suspense.
Planned to get into theatres by the 30th of April, the movie will feature all the regular's of Sathyan cinema including Mamukoya, Innocent, K P A C Lalitha, Lakshmi Priya, cinematographer Venu and Music director Illayaraja in the crew and cast list.
‘Katha Thudarum’ is expected to be a super hit in the lines of 'Katha Parayumbol', 'Kathavasheshan', 'Kathanayakan', Katha, ‘Kathanayaki’, 'Kathakku Pinnil', 'Kathayariyathe', and 'Iniyum Katha Thudarum' which all have the word 'Katha' attached to it.
