Movie Plot
After a super-secret mission in the south of Thailand, Gunja, a CIA operative, is becoming a target herself. Escaping an attempt to assassinate her she goes AWOL for 2 years, only to resurface in Bangkok in order to find out who wants her dead and to stop another crime from happening. Needless to say that she’ll meet a couple of old friends along the way.
SUAY SAMURAI (literally: Beautiful Samurai) is another one of those Thai B-Action movies that the country and possibly the world can’t get enough of. For whatever reason we can still see a large and continuous output of this kind of stuff coming out of the kingdom and surprisingly there’s an audience out there buying into these films. Even though movies like SUAY SAMURAI may still be screened in cinemas across Thailand they without a doubt wouldn’t see the light of the silver screen ever in a western market. So make no mistake, this kind of film must generally be considered direct-to-video fare.
The Vanquisher Story:
After completing a covert mission in southern Thailand, CIA agent Gunja finds herself forced to fight off operatives who've been ordered to take her out at all costs. She survives and after two years of laying low, re-emerges in Bangkok to face her old foes and foil a plot to detonate a bomb in the city.

Directed by Manop Udomdej, Vanquisher tells the story of "Genja" CIA's fearsome female agent who has become the target of her own organization after her last covert mission in the Southern Thailand. Fortunately, she somehow survives the assassination. But later she is confronted by an assassin with orders to "take her out at all costs." It would be discovered later that the orders had originated from the CIA itself.

Not to be mistaken with Dean Gold’s sci-fi movie of the same name (just in case, you know, you were Dean Gold and you’re reading this), this version of “The Vanquisher” hails from Thailand, and is another one of the country’s stabs at International glory by way of ridiculous martial arts-fueled action, desktop-level PC special effects, and what looks like bad, cringe-worthy wire-fu. The film stars Sophita Sribanchean as a Thai CIA chick who is betrayed by the CIA and forced to hide out. (Oh, CIA, why are you always so darn evil?)
Our heroine is forced out of hiding when an evil plot to destroy Bangkok is discovered, and only she can stop it. This involves battling it out in skin-tight black leather outfits with motorcycle-riding ninjas and evil Caucasian CIA types. Plus, hot chicks sword fighting in the rain! Oh my.
Wise Kwai (via 24FPS) says the film has been on and off since 2007, even swapping lead actresses at one point. (In an amusing note: the film’s now-fired actress was let go because she wore a revealing dress to a Thai industry event.) The now-completed film co-stars Jacqueline Apithananont, Kessarin Ektawatkul, Saranyoo Wongkrachang and Pete Thongchua.
The film slices its way into Thai theaters October, but you’ll probably just have to wait for the import DVD to get your fill of Thai chicks in skin-tight black leather.
