THE JAPANESE WIFE'HINDI MOVIE STORY:
The Japanese Wife story revolves around a young village school teacher (Rahul Bose) marrying his Japanese pen friend (Chigusa Takaku) over letters and remaining true and loyal to her throughout his life, while actually never meeting her.
Snehmoy (Rahul Bose) and Miyage (Chigusa Takaku) are pen friends who exchange wedding vows through letters. Fifteen years pass but they never meet. Yet the bond of marriage is strong between them. This unusual relationship comes under a cloud when a young widow, Sandhya (Raima Sen), comes to stay with Snehmoy along with her eight-year-old son (Rudranil Ghosh).
Snehmoy and the little boy bond and the arithmetic teacher discovers the joy of palpable bonds and fatherhood. There develops an inexplicable thread of understanding with Sandhya too.
I enjoyed playing the character of a widow – Raima Sen
With critically acclaimed films like Godmother, Daman, Choker Bali and Parineeta in her kitty, Raima Sen emerged out as a talented actor. However, this versatile actress gave a series of average films too like Honeymoon Travels Pvt. Ltd., Yatra, Dus, Antar Mahal, Eklavya, Mukhbir, C Company, Manorama Six Feet Under etc. Nevertheless, Raima Sen will be soon seen playing a widow in Aparna’s Sen directorial film “The Japanese Wife – A love poem” under Saregama films banner. The film stars brilliant actors of our industry like Raima Sen, Rahul Bose, Moushumi Chatterjee and Japanese actress Chigusa Takaku. Raima Sen in conversation about her to-be-released film “The Japanese Wife” releasing on 9th April 2010.
* Tell us about your character as a widow in “The Japanese Wife?”
I play the role of “Sandhya” in this film who is a widow and single mother of an 8 year old. This is the first time I’ve played a character which is not glamorous but didn’t want to let go off this opportunity as this is Aparna Sen’s film.
* So what’s the story of “The Japanese Wife?”
This is a haunting but improbable love story which revolves around a young village school teacher (Rahul Bose) marrying his Japanese pen friend (Chigusa Takaku) over letters and remaining true and loyal to her throughout his life, while actually never meeting her.
* Sources claim that this film is based on a book?
That’s absolutely true! The film is based on title story of The Japanese Wife and Other Stories by Anglo-Indian author Kunal Basu, who writes from Oxford.
* How was it working with tough task master aka perfectionist Aparna Sen?
Well honestly, I was scared before because I had this pre-conceived notion that she is really tough on the sets. Whenever I goofed up during a scene, she used to explain and even yell when needed but gradually it went smoothly. She used to pamper me like her daughter and it was such a wonderful experience working with her. I’m truly blessed.
* How was it working with your co-star Rahul Bose?
I think he’s brilliant as an actor and I learnt a lot from him. We shared a good rapport and I enjoyed a lot.
* Most of your work is non-commercial films. Any specific reason for that?
I’ve no idea but whatever I get, I do without any complaints.
Music Launch Of 'The Japanese Wife'
'THE JAPANESE WIFE'HINDI MOVIE REVIEW:
Music launch of The Japanese Wife
March 27, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Rahul Bose starrer, The Japanese Wife had its music launch on Wednesday. Director of the film, Aparna Sen and actors Rahul Bose and Moushumi Chatterjee were present at the launch.
The film is a book adaptation of Kunal Basu’s novel with the same name. The film has 16 songs. It stars Japanese actress Chigusa Takaku as the Japanese wife.
According to Aparna Sen, she found the story like a modern-day fairy tale. She reveals that when she heard the story from Kunal Basu, she found it very strangely odd and yet charming at the same time.
Rahul Bose, who has earlier worked with Aparna Sen on 15 Park Avenue and Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, states that his character in the film is that of a romantic. His character, Snehmoy, is very stubborn schoolteacher and has been writing letters to his lover for 17 years. They start out as pen pals and then go on to become lovers. They even get married through letters and live together as husband and wife like this. They have never met though. It is set in the interiors of Sunderbans, West Bengal.
The film will be releasing on April 9.

'PAATHSHAALA' Hindi MOVIE STORY:
Teaching is a noble profession.
But is it really true in these day of commercialization and consumerism? Every day, we read in the newspapers about students being bogged down with study pressures, parents burdened with fees hikes, teachers punishing students inhumanly, some students even dying in such cases or some committing suicide...what state of affairs we have brought our education system to?
The story starts with the joining of a new English teacher Rahul Prakash Udyavar (Shahid Kapoor) at the Saraswati Vidya Mandir School, situated in the outskirts of Mumbai. Though he creates instant rapport with students and teachers alike, he realizes that there is something amiss in this school.
Slowly his doubts come true as the manager of the school Sharma (Saurabh Shukla) makes many monetary obligations compulsory on the parents in the name of extracurricular activities. He goes to the extent of punishing the students inhumanly when the new unjustified demands of the school are not fulfilled by the parents.
Day by day the stress level among the students increases many folds leading to the unexpected and grim consequences. A situation becomes so explosive that finally it becomes a national issue.
Paathshala tries to answer many questions related to the sanctity of today's education system. The high morals and basic ethics of the teaching have taken a back seat. Profit and more profit have become the new mantra of the education institutions.
Paathshala is not afraid to tell the truth of wrong doings of the greedy educational institutes on the face, neither it spares them from exposing the use of unethical media activities of the children who are not ready for it.

Un lugar lejano Review
What actions should take when one witnesses one's most trusted mentor and advisor committing uxoricide? That is the plight that befalls Vicente (Tristan Ulloa); a lower-level professor at a Law School in Spain, he not only regards senior professor Fernando (Emilio Gutierrez Aragon) as his closest friend and colleague, but relies on Fernando for counsel and direction, as a father figure and an emotional anchor. That begins to change rather rapidly when Vicente catches Fernando brutally murdering his beloved wife. Vincente cannot quite force himself to turn Fernando in, but even after Fernando offers a convincing explanation, Vincente can neither forgive Fernando nor drive the images out of his mind. Instead of running to the police, Vincente remains silent (which makes him an accomplice), yet tells Fernando to permanently stay out of his life. Then additional bodies begin to pile up. ~ Nathan Southern, All Movie Guide

SADIYAAN' HINDI BOLLYWOOD STORY:
Rekha – Bollywood timeless diva comes back
And as usual, Rekha is not giving any bytes to the media walas, she believes in grace and says, “A woman should be seen by the luminosity of her grace and not heard shooting her mouth away about praising herself which is so not lady-like,” .
On being choosy, Bollywood icon of beauty says, “It’s not that an actor needs to be pampered so much as that one needs to provide a nurturing environment that is encouraging. Besides that, it is the script that is the foundation and therefore directs one’s choice of films. I don’t question the work that I get”.
In Sadiyaan, Rekha plays wife of Rishi Kapoor and she will share the screen with one of her favourites, Hema Malini along with new introduction Shatrughan Sinha’s son Luv Sinha and British actress Ferena Wazier, the movie is a love story based at the time of partition.
In the other film ‘Aaj Phir Jeene Ki Tamanna Hai’ which is a mature love story Rekha will pair with Shatrughan Sinha both will share the screen together after ‘Khoon Bhari Maang’.
Watch out for the ultimate Bollywood diva called ‘Rekha’ this year!.
SADIYAAN' HINDI MOVIE Trailer:
Sadiyaan Hindi Movie Review :
What is Sadiyaan about?
It’s a period drama based on an incident which happened during the partition. It’s the story of two mothers, a Hindu played by Rekha and a Muslim played by Hema Malini. Ever since I started making films, I had a dream of casting these two beautiful ladies together. They had no ego clashes and they bond so well.
But period films, even those made by top film makers, don’t work these days.
Sadiyaan dil se nikli baat hai. My granny used to tell me this story, which I have now put on celluloid. Mark my words, people who see Sadiyaan will start loving their parents more than they love them currently.
How did you think of casting Luv Sinha?
I wanted a new boy. I saw Luv at a restaurant and something in me said that he was the guy I wanted for my next film. I sent my son to talk to him and that’s when Luv told him that he is Shatrughanji’s son. He came up to me and we got talking. The next day, I spoke to Shatrughanji and took Luv’s screen test.
Is Luv’s voice as heavy as his father’s?
(Laughs) No. He has a different voice.
Your film Deewana was a blockbuster and Shah Rukh Khan’s first hit. It’s surprising you two haven’t worked together again.
For that to happen, I need a subject that will be better than Deewana. I haven’t got anything like that yet. I am also in touch with Priyanka Chopra and Lara Dutta who made their first big splash in Bollywood with my film Andaaz. The film industry is a small world

Those Spanish know how hot up a cinema screen with this little naught number called LUNA CALIENTE (or Sultry Moon). Directed by veteren Vicente Aranda and is based on a novel by Mempo Giardinelli which sees a man Ramiro who returns home to start a new career but his life turns upside down on one night, a night of a full moon.Within that full moon cycle he becomes a rapist, murderer and fugitive and his victim is an young beautiful woman (see picture above) where he has some steamy liason with, nudge, nudge, wink wink.
The book is meant to be some read, not one you would leave around the coffee table for your old granny to read and choke on her digestive biscuits. Looking at the trailer it does look risque but as in how much liasons happen its unclear, enjoy the trailer
Sinópsis
Argentina is on a total roll today. Hot on the heels of the trailer for Marcelo Piñeyro's new film comes another literary adaptation this time from an award winning novella about a man whose life is turned upside down on a night of a full moon.
Mempo Giardinelli's “Sultry Moon” is apparently quite the read but what caught my attention was this steamy trailer for Vicente Aranda's adaptation of the story which also happens to be titled Luna Caliente (“Sultry Moon”). The film stars Eduard Fernández as Ramiro, a man returning to his small Argentine town to start his career as a law professor, and the gorgeous Thaïs Blume as the young woman who becomes his victim. Ramiro's entire life changes within the span of a few hours when the moon is full and he becomes a rapist, murderer and fugitive.
The trailer is pretty risqué and I fully admit to being taken in by the sexual charge that permeates throughout. Not sure how far this carries over the film as the woman is only part of the story (the second part being Ramiro's evasion of the law) but I'm definitely curious to find out. And heck, with a poster as gorgeous as this one, who wouldn't be at least curious?
Luna caliente Review
A Paramount Pictures Espana release of a Corte & Confeccion de Peliculas, Cre-Accion Films, Viviana Films production, in association with Plot Films, with participation of TVE, TVC. (International sales: Cre-Accion Films, Madrid.) Produced by Teresa Font, Nano Montero, Rodolfo Montero, Vicente Aranda. Directed, written by Vicente Aranda, based on the novel by Mempo Giardinelli.
With: Eduard Fernandez, Thais Blume, Hector Colome, Jose Coronado, Empar Ferrer, Emilio Gutierrez Caba, Mary Carmen Ramirez, Carla Sanchez.
In "Hot Moon," Spanish vet Vicente Aranda continues to mine his traditional themes of passion and politics, but with vastly diminished results. Set in the '70s -- and mostly looking as if it were made then -- this story of a poet who falls victim to the charms of a femme fatale, with tragic results, could have been hailed as a Spanish groundbreaker 40 years ago but now looks passe and carelessly made. Only diehard Aranda fans will take an interest; locally, the Feb. 5 release opened far from hot.
Mempo Giardinelli's original novel is set in Argentina, but Aranda has relocated it to Spain at the time of the famous Burgos trials, when Basque terrorists were controversially condemned to death by the ailing Franco regime. Juan (Eduard Fernandez) has returned from exile in Paris and, at the house of Republican Dr. Muniente (Emilio Gutierrez Caba), falls for his daughter, dangerously young Ramona (Thais Blume). She unaccountably comes on to him, and Juan rapes her and leaves her for dead.
While trying to escape, Juan kills Muniente; soon Ramona reappears, telling Juan she actually enjoyed being raped. Meanwhile, a police inspector (Jose Coronado, the pic's best thing) is sniffing around and, in one magnificently bizarre scene, interrogates Juan in a graveyard just after Juan has had sex with Ramona at her father's funeral. The arrival of the cops opens up a noirish strand about political corruption that soon becomes incoherent.
Fernandez, a quietly tense performer, often ensures quality, but here struggles with a script that makes no attempt to explain why he rapes and kills. Many scenes are introduced by onscreen quotes -- some invented, and often on the Jekyll & Hyde theme -- that seem designed to inject some intellectual heft into a movie that wobbles uncertainly between the literal and the metaphorical.
Tech credits are low-budget. Film's attitude toward rape, supplemented by some un-PC statements by Aranda, have whipped up some local media interest.
