POURNAMI NAAGAM 2010 Plot
There have been a lot of supernatural thrillers in Tamil cinema even during those earlier black and white days. Those films like “Maya Mothiram”, “Maya Bazaar”, had no superior technical support for the graphics. Even then, they chilled the audience with the tricks they had done in editing.
At all periods of time, the directors of supernatural thrillers have been specialists in directing supernatural films. Earlier, Vittalachariya was doing those kinds of films. Today, directors like “Rama. Narayanan and “Yaar” Kannan are there to make such films and ensure that such a genre never dies.
The Glam doll “Mumaith Khan” is playing the superstitious snake in the film “Pournami Naagam” which will be directed by “Yaar” Kannan. The film is a supernatural thriller with stunning graphics. “Mumaith khan” has done item songs in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi cinema but this will be the first time she is playing the lead. She has played a dual role in the film.

Just as the title suggests, the film is about correlations between Snake and Woman. ‘But assume this film to be the same old snake story of this creature seeking vengeance over its victims. Nah! It’s completely different and more entertaining as it would cater to the contemporaneous youth groups’ says filmmaker ‘Yaar’ Kannan.
The film has Karunaas and Adithya Menon performing dual roles. Mumaith Khan’s multi-dimensional role as an orthodox traditional girl and ultra modern chick is expected to grab the lads in town.
‘Pournami Naagam’ revolves around a series of mysterious happenings that takes place during a month that two full moon days occurring.

Item specialist Mumaith Khan's recent Telugu film Punnami Nagu, directed by A. Kondarami Reddy, is now being remade in Tamil as Pournami Nagam with Mumaith once again in the leading role under the direction of Yaar Kannan, known for his science fiction and horror thrillers. The pooja of the film was recently held at Prasad Studios.
Featuring Mumaith Khan in a dual role for the first time in her career, the film revolves around two Naga Devatas (female snakes), who want to perform a ritualistic dance before Lord Shiva in a bid to save the earth from a fast-approaching collapse and annihilation. While they prepare for the special dance, a male snake in their group is killed by some smugglers for 'Nagamanickam'. One of the female snakes (Mumaith Khan) looks for vengeance and waits for a chance to get a right body to get into human form to bring back the lost 'Nagamanickam'.
At this point, the story takes a different turn towards the life of a police officer's smart and sexy daughter (Mumaith Khan), who has some tattoo-like marks on her body from birth. The same smugglers try to prey her on the basis of a local belief that a girl with a natural tattooed body has the power to reveal more Nagamanickams. However, a group of petty thieves saves her from their hands. While she is admitted in hospital, the female snake enters into her body. The rest of the film shows how she takes revenge.
According to sources, the Tamil remake will have some minor differences from the original. Pournami Nagam will have plenty of dances, choreographed by Tara, Ashok Raj and Sivasankar. Nizhalgal Ravi, Karunas, Mayilsami, Sampath, Delhi Ganesh and Nalini are in the cast. Shooting will be in special locations like Bommalapalayam. A lot of computer graphics will be used to enhance Bernard's camera work. GK handles art direction while S.A. Rajkumar composes music.

Super siren of the South, Mumaith Khan, plays a double role in 'Pournami Nagam', a Tamil remake of the Telugu superhit 'Punnami Nagu'. The A. Kondarami Reddy film is a supernatural thriller with loads of action, glamour and special effects.
The film is a story of revenge by a 'Naagin' (a serpent goddess), whose husband is killed by smugglers for Naga Manickyam (A mythical precious stone found on the hoods of serpents).
Mumaith plays the serpent and an ultra modern girl in the movie. The cast of the film features Nizhalgal Ravi, Karunas, Mayilsami, Sampath, Delhi Ganesh and Nalini. Sivasankar scores the music.

Yaar Kannan’s Pournami Nagam - A Horror on the make
Vijayakumar is producing a film titled Pournami Nagam under the banner Sound and Claps. Mumaith Khan, Karunas and Nizalgal Ravi and others are starring in this film. Bernard S David is wielding the camera while S A Rajkumar is composing the music for the lyrics penned by Pa Vijay, Palani Bharathi, Tamarai, Viveka and Kabilan.
Yaar Kannan has written the screenplay and dialogues. He is also directing this film. No rituals will be performed in the temples during solar or lunar eclipse but worshipping of snakes will take place during this period. This worship is called Naga Pooja. What happens at the time of this ritual is narrated in this film. Mumaith Khan is doing a special snake dance choreographed by Shiva Shankar. The shooting of this film is to commence next month.
