Review
A half baked tale, the story begins on the backdrop of a film shooting and just when it is about to get wrapped up, the camera gets spoiled and it would take two days for that to come. So the unit members comprising of the assistant director (nitin), heroine Asha (priyanka), hero (gautham), producer Murthy (ishrat), diector JJ (harvey), stunt master Rakka (Ravi kale), spot boy Laxman (ishteyak), Sameera (Rasika) along with the forest guide Setu (joy) decide to spend the night at the nearby forest. The story takes a turn when Setu who is the only guy knowing the jungle route gets killed mysteriously. Soon, one after the other, the unit members begin to get killed and they realize that someone or something is out there to get them. Who survives in the end and what happens after that forms the rest of the story.
It was with great hype the dubbed version of hero Nitin’s Bollywood debut movie ‘Agyaat’ has been released. Slated to be one of its kind creature flick, director Ram Gopal Varma was confident about its success. Let us see how true it is.

Story

Due to a camera not working, the shooting of a film about to be completed gets delayed. Since there are two days of time left, the unit decides to spend the night at a nearby forest. The team has the assistant director (nitin), heroine Asha (priyanka), hero (gautham), producer Murthy (ishrat), director JJ (harvey), spot boy Laxman (ishteyak) along with the forest guide Sethu (joy), stunt master Rakka (Ravi kale), Sameera (Rasika). Sethu is the only guy knowing the jungle terrain but the next morning he is found dead. Before the unit realizes, another member gets killed and they realize that there is some unknown force that is killing them all. Whether they manage to escape from death or not forms the rest of the story.

Performances

Nitin has come up with a better performance this time and he has shown good physique and dance steps. Priyanka Kothari was a screen scorcher and her sex appeal was enticing. Ishrat Ali was entertaining for a while, Ravi Kale was neat, Gautam was good, Rasika looked luscious and did her bit well, Sethu was alright, Harvey was effective, Ishteyaq Khan was neat.

Technical aspects

The script has not been that good and there were open ends, the screenplay just synced well with the script. The real credit goes to the background score and the cinematography for some mesmerizing work. Editing was also apt, costumes were simple and the locations chosen were perfect. Dialogues were normal and the pace of the film was moderate.

Director’s portrayal

The director attempted to depict an adventure thriller mixed with chills and shock points but the truth is the narrative was so weak that there was nothing for him to do. He had a weak script to begin with and could not bring in enough flavour to create a curiosity among the audience. The story had no depth and the director was focused on the technical side of it without looking at the content and a message to the audience.

Critic’s view

The film is exclusive to a particular set of audience and even they would not have the required elements of entertainment this time. It looked like the film was stopped abruptly and all the viewers had to see in the end was just to wait for a sequel to happen. The fundamental for any film would be to either create twists during the movie and then create excitement for a sequel or close it in the first part. Neither happened with this movie and it was a disappointment in store given the expectations from Ramu.

Verdict

Stale and tasteless

Review

At a time when filmmakers go behind commercial potboilers, director Rasi Azhagappan has the guts to render a movie that is more relevant for today’s world. The need to shower love and affection and spend time with children is the moral of Vannathupoochi. The film is about a young girl, who is yearning and craving for the love and affection of her parents and fights a legal case to stay with her grandfather. The film is not a regular mainstream masala movie but at the same time not so preachy.

Arun (Siddharth) and Chitra (Madhavi Sharma), who work in IT firm, ensure that their child Divyabharathi (Sri Lakshmi) gets good education and gets all comforts.

But the busy parents, concentrate more on their career, and have no time to be with her side and shower kind words. Divya who comes across her paternal grandfather Chinnasamy (Bala Singh) is moved by the love and affection showered on her by him. She mingles with everyone and her real life blossoms.

Arun is shocked when his daughter refuses to come with him from the village after the holidays. For, she gets the love she wanted from her grandfather.

Divya even files a case alleging that she is neglected by her parents and she prefer to stay with her grandfather.

It is a splendid performance by young Sri Lakshmi. She is cool and suave in her performance. So is Bala Singh. Both share a good rapport and it oozes on screen. Newcomers Siddarth and Madhavi Sharma play their parts well. Revathy dons a cameo. Music is adequate. A message well said is Vannthupooch

It has been a very long time since a film has been certified officially as a Children's Film by the regional censor board in Chennai. Vannathupoochi, produced and directed by Azhagappan is the first film in many years to get a certificate as a children film, for that alone he should be lauded.

The film focuses on today’s children and their grandparents who are lonely and neglected due to modern times when nobody has time due to technological advancements and the mad rush among parents in day to day life.

An old man in a village finds himself to the very lonely and his granddaughter who lives in the city too is lonely and neglected as her parents are on the fast track and have no time for anything. The director tries to show the bonding between the two generations.

Divya (Sri Lakshmi) is an 8-year-old girl who lives s with her parents (Siddharth &Madhavi Sharma), both IT professionals in Chennai city. She is a poor little rich kid who has all the comforts but carves for her parent’s attention, love and care as they have no time for her.

During vacation, her dad’s principal in school takes her to their village, where her grandfather (Bala Singh) lives. The old man, a weaver is very happy to see his granddaughter and a strong bond develops between the two. Soon, Divya becomes the darling of the entire village.

But when her parents turn up to take her away, the girl decides not to go. She gives a case against her parents who have no time for her. Justice Sharada (Revathy in a guest role) studies the mind of the girl and gives a stunning verdict which is an eyeopener to modern parents.

Director Azhagappan has gone overboard while etching out the character and life of IT professionals who rave and rant and behave like caricatures, while life in village is all rosy and happy. This concept went out of the window in the 90’s from our mainstream cinema.

The film is shot like the 1970’s propaganda I & B ministries Film Division documentaries of a forgotten era, where the message is sharp and loud, with little entertainment. At best it is a tribute to making children film 70’s style in an age of Harry Potter, Pogo and video games.

Azhagar Malai is about the egoistic and irate village heads and a youngster trying to change their attitude.

Tamilnow.com wishes Azhagar Malai team a grand success.

Music review:
Azhagarmalai is a revelation! You get to hear the Raja of yore across various stages of his spectacular career, that too with minimal synth that plagues his recent works. Bhavatharini’s Unnai enakku is the only mild causality of the later part of Raja’s form, but even here, his tune and dazzling interludes help significantly! Evoking the mid-90s, ‘last known good configuration’ feeling is Raja’s own vocals in the dulcet Ulagam ippo, reminiscent of his work on films like Kalaignan and Aatma.

It’s the Avathaaram/ Azhagi mid-90s sound in the beautiful duet, Karuga mani - totally melodious and breezy! Muthamma goes a few more years back, to early 90s, while maintaining the authentic, rustic, but mildly spruced up sound that Raja pioneered - one catchy track. Kezhakku velukkudhu is an interesting concoction - the rhythms that occupy for most part of the song is ideally late 80s, but the composer fuses some of his later sound fascinatingly. It’s the same feel, only a bit more uncontaminated and Ramarajan-styled in Enna senjaalum, with Raja’s trademark rhythms and an astounding anupallavi, sung by Tippu and Ponni. Despite the B-gradism surrounding Azhagarmalai, composer Ilayaraja shocks the listener with a mesmerizing return to form…sheer joy!

On His Majesty's Secret Service (Cantonese)

Genre: Comedy
General Release Date: 06 Aug 2009
Cast: Barbie Hsu, Louis Koo
Director: Wong Jing

Synopsis
For generations, the secret service has always been responsible for protecting the emperor, where 12 agents are assigned to bodyguard duty. Among the current group, Zero Zero Dog (Louis Koo) is considered to be the weakest as he shows no interest in the martial arts and spends his time studying technology and coming up with scientific inventions. When Dog uncovers an evil plot to kill the emperor by the chief eunuch, Cao Yan Chui (Fan Siu Wong), he decides to eliminate the enemy himself

Review
With what part of a man's body should he use to feed his baby son when the toddler wakes up hungry and crying in the middle of the night? You'll be devastatingly tickled by the answer. This isn't "Seeding Of A Ghost" or "Picture Of A Nymph" but there shouldn't be a single Hong Kong cinema fan that isn't going to have a good time watching this new Wong Jing comedy!

Set in the days of lavish brothels and palace politics, the James Bond here is not a suave British spy like the movie's 1969 Ian Fleming namesake "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" but good ol' Louis Koo in a comedic role as a bumbling scientist-cum-emperor guardsman 009 (Zero Zero Dog in Cantonese) who knows more about inventing strange impractical devices than practical kickass kungfu.

For this outing, Wong Jing doesn't indulge in his usual multiple-siren lineup to drive the humour, like he did in "Beauty & The Seven Beasts" or "My Secret Admirer Is A Vampire". That's because if a movie is going to star the brash and bewitching Sandra Ng, you're best off letting her steal the screen!

This enjoyable nonsensical story about a royal coup d'etat benefits from having an old school storytelling format and some credible performances from its cast, not to mention some token fighting sequences. Even the cutesy beauty Barbie Hsu (who plays Louis Koo's disgruntled love interest) pulls her own weight beyond just smiling stupidly.

Faux lesbianism and overdone eunuch jokes aside, "On His Majesty's Secret Service" is one of the funniest Hong Kong movies so far this year. This is a real Cantonese movie so forget it if you have to read the mistranslated subtitles. If however you're in on the lingo, it's time to go update yourself with some top-shelf Canto banter.

What we got here is sort of Malaysian Ghostbusters, but they use stick weapons instead of proton packs. Instead of busting ghosts we're fighting monsters and demons. The mood is humorous, not taken too seriously, sort of like the actual Ghostbusters. With people running around in wacky costumes fighting monsters, the film can't not be entertaining, double negative or not. Good fun. What other film let's you see a giant Monsters Inc. character battle a giant robot? Take that, Iron Man!

Review

This shout out goes to all Kelantanese out there - "Budak Kelantan", an urban drama that realistically explores the lifestyles of young Kelantanese people in Kuala Lumpur, is just the kind of movie that might make essential viewing for you.

The movie, inspired by writer-cum-director Wan Azli Wan Jusoh's experiences, follows two subplots; one about the good and the other about the bad. It has a strong half an hour but the excitement doesn't last until the end. The climax is also problematic and it ruined the early thrill. I believe that Wan Azli and his team could've picked a better ending.

Kelantanese trio Danny, Bienda and newcomer Asrulfaizal look compelling in their roles. Danny, with more acting experience in hand, put down a good portrayal for Buchek, an innocent and softhearted university student who came to Kuala Lumpur for a good purpose. Opposite Buchek, there's Jaha (Asrulfaizal), the misfit youngster who is apparently a long time friend of Buchek from Kelantan. As a new film actor, this bloke did an impressive job for the role. His spontaneous and natural acting invites disgust and hatred from the audience. He's a star in the making and should be someone to look for in the industry soon. Of the trio, Bienda seems to lose the spotlight. It's understandable that her role as Che Nor is more like a supporting component to Buchek and Jaha but her acting doesn't leave any impact on the story. It's just an average portrayal and it's easy to forget.

One thing to look for is the colour treatment in "Budak Kelantan". It's raw and grainy. Plus, the camera work utilises the Cloverfield-Blair Witch effect and this fits the story very well. It enhances the experience for the audience while giving the audience a chance to believe the story is authentic. It's a commendable effort indeed.

Overall, the movie is a good attempt for a newcomer like Wan Azli. He manages to bring out the realism with raw touches to the story. If you enjoy Osman Ali's "Anak Halal", this one is a good follow-up viewing to that movie. If that's not enough for you, at least you can enjoy the Kelantanese dialect by which the movie is presented in.

Cast and Crew

Genre: Action / Comedy
General Release Date: 06 Aug 2009
Distributor: Golden Screen Cinemas
Cast: Jim Chauncheun, Koti Arambawy, Sittichai Pabchompoo
Director: Jaturong Mokjok

Synopsis
One of the most well-known and powerful gangs in Hong Kong is Golden Dragon, led by Ma Yong Hai (Jim Chauncheun) and his son Tao. When Tao is mutilated and hurt badly, Ma goes on a quest to find his long-lost son, Tian (Sittichai Pabchompoo) to succeed him as the new Godfather. Everything seems to be perfect but there's one thing about Tian that is absolutely shocking - Tian is gay and loves being pretty just like a girl!
Review
Instead of the usual mobster movie with themes that are violent, bloody and horrible, "Kungfu Tootsie" on the other hand is funny and enjoyable for almost everyone. It has a lot of unexpected humour, with transvestites and gays permeating the central storyline. Although there are plenty of laugh-out-loud moments in every scene, most of the deadpan jokes are for those who can read between the lines.

"Kung Fu Tootsie" is a story about many gangster families fighting to be the ultimate gang (which is quite similar to "The Godfather" movies) but neatly throws in lot of "Kung Fu Hustle" moments. From the kind of slapstick we get here, the influence of Stephen Chow is unmistakably present.

From the lowest ranking punk in the clan to the biggest head honcho in the hierarchy, each character is beautifully crafted so as to paint a complete picture. Their costumes differentiate associates from bosses. Apart from the colourful costumes, the characters are well developed, although it is rather confusing in the beginning. However, each confusing moment arises only for the story to address it and nothing is left out.

Another bonus point for "Kung Fu Tootsie" is the camerawork, which this reviewer thinks should be applauded. The director's effort in experimenting and using natural lighting to execute a certain shot or a certain effect is just plain awesome.

However, the downside of this movie is the seemingly endless cuts of 'important' scenes. The inconvenient trimming of these scenes is rather annoying when done too often. Well, let's just hope that the audience understand what is going on but this reviewer is happy enough with what we get.

19th century justice has finally caught up to grave robbers Arthur Blake andWillie Grimes. With the specter of the guillotine looming over him, young Blakeconfides in visiting clergyman Father Duffy, recounting fifteen years of adventurein the resurrection trade. His tale leads from humble beginnings as a young boystealing trinkets from corpses, to a partnership with seasoned ghoul WillieGrimes as they hunt creatures unwilling to accept their place in the ground. Thecolorful and peculiar history of Grimes and Blake is one filled with adventure, horror, and vicious rivalries that threaten to put all involved in the very gravesthey’re trying to pilfer.
Antic horror comedy "I Sell the Dead" nods to the '60s Hammer heyday of fog-swirling Victorian chillers, as well as that period's penchant for teaming genre favorites (Boris Karloff, Basil Rathbone, Peter Lorre, etc.) in genial sendups. Fondly crafted, amusing if slight item has toured fests since last fall, selling rights in several territories. IFC will give the pic simultaneous U.S. theatrical and on-demand rollouts starting Aug. 7 in New York and Aug. 14 in L.A. (VOD release is Aug. 12), with partner Blockbuster handling rental/download distribution.
In addition to producing, contemporary horror helmer Larry Fessenden ("The Last Winter") steps before the camera here as rascally Willy Grimes, who apprentices Arthur (Dominic Monaghan) in the fine art of grave-robbing, their primary client being sinister Dr. Quint (Angus Scrimm, "Phantasm"). As if this illegal trade weren't trouble enough, the duo's exhumed corpses have an exasperating habit of coming back to hostile life. Stringing together several macabre episodes, framed by Arthur's pre-guillotine confession to blase Father Duffy ("Hellboy's" Ron Perlman), Glenn McQuaid's feature writing-directing debut doesn't build much narrative steam. Still, droll perfs, diverting f/x and handsome B-pic atmospherics ensure a good time for horror fans with a memory past last weekend's slasher remake.
Seems Blake began his grave-digging days in desperation as a youth, apprenticing with the older, meaner Grimes (this first flashback consists of portions of THE RESURRECTION APPRENTICE with new music and a few edits), stealing the dead from their deeply planted crates and selling them to a creepy, violin-playing doctor (PHANTASM’s Angus Scrimm, who’s fantastic). Their dubious association is a happy one for many years, until one night, they come across a freshly interred corpse with a garlic clove necklace and a stake protruding from her chest. In the hilarious ensuing sequence, the turn-of-the-century tomb raiders foolishly remove the wooden spike and the toothy stiff screams to life, clawing at their throats and trying to literally tear the duo apart before they put her back to bed for keeps. They soon discover that this incident was not an isolated one, and before you can say Burke and Hare, an entire market of macabre moneymaking opens up to them: revealing and stealing from the undead—an enterprise that will unfortunately prove to be their eventual undoing.
I can’t properly articulate how wonderful it is to see an ultra-low-budget modern horror film that aspires to be a richly detailed, Gothic period piece. I SELL THE DEAD belies its limited scratch by emphasizing atmosphere (shockingly, the film was lensed in New York…could have fooled me), costumes and quality performances (Fessenden is wonderful, physically channeling Jack Nicholson from THE SHINING while acting like Ron Moody from OLIVER!) over cheap, overzealous torture, nickel-and-dime sex and warmed-over TEXAS CHAINSAW plot contrivances. There’s a real wit, ingenuity and energy on display in I SELL THE DEAD, a love of the medium and a deep respect for the subgenre of British grave-thieving movies it so aptly spoofs; think THE DOCTOR AND THE DEVILS or THE FLESH AND THE FIENDS by way of the CARRY ON films.
If there are a few flaws here and there (Jeff Grace’s handsome score is perhaps a bit too busy, there are some spotty Irish and British accents amidst the American cast and an odd comic-book-panel visual device is seemingly forgotten halfway through), they’re more than forgivable and never derail any of the ghoulish good will. That said, the print screened at Toronto After Dark wasn’t the final cut and a few FX hadn’t yet been polished, so perfection might still be forthcoming.
If you pine for that delectable golden era of melodramatic, ghoulish, bodice-ripping big-screen terror, and wonder what it would be like if you crossed that unique Hammer aesthetic with the supernatural splatter-toon outrageousness of THE EVIL DEAD, then Sir/Madame, look no further. I SELL THE DEAD is the fright flick for you.
The movie follows a couple of grave robbers in the 19th century named Arthur Blake and Willie Grimes. Justice has finally caught up with them and they are going to be punished for their crimes. Before the young Arthur Blake is about to get his head sliced off by the guillotine he is visited by a clergyman named father Duffy. It is in this interaction that Blake tells the story of his life which recounts his days as a young boy to stealing corpses, his partnership with Willie Grimes and how they ended up hunting the living dead. Yes they living dead like Vampires.

The Rainbow Rock does Mr. Black's BLACK BOX one better: it grants wishes to anyone who holds it. Before long, wishes-gone-wrong have left the neighborhood swarming with tiny spaceships, crocodile armies, giant boogers...and outrageous magical mayhem around every corner. But it's not until the grown-ups get their hands on the Rock that the trouble really starts. Now Toe and his newfound friends must join forces to save their town from itself, discovering along the way that what you wish for is not always what you want. A young boy\'s discovery of a colorful, wish-granting rock causes chaos in the suburban town of Black Falls when jealous kids and scheming adults alike set out to get their hands on it.'
Shorts is an upcoming family comedy/adventure film directed and written by Robert Rodriguez. It is set to be released in the United States on August 7, 2009.
Chaos hits a uniformly "perfect" family neighborhood when an 11-year-old boy finds a rainbow-colored rock that grants wishes to anyone who holds it.
'A young boy living in a cookie-cutter suburb gets hit on the head with a rainbow-colored rock that grants wishes to anyone who holds it in this family-oriented fantasy comedy from Spy Kids director Robert Rodriguez. All the houses in Black Falls look exactly the same, and everyone who lives in this suburban Shangri-la works for Black Box Unlimited Worldwide Industries Incorporated. A highly profitable company thanks to their latest invention, Mr.
Black's Black Box -- an all-in-one communication device that's revolutionized the technological landscape -- Black Box Unlimited Worldwide Industries Incorporated also employs the parents of 11-year-old Toe Thompson. But Toe isn't entirely sold on the concept of this corporate conglomerate; all he wants is to make some new friends, and that wish comes true after Toe is struck in the head by a mysterious rainbow-colored rock that falls right out of the clear blue sky. A magical stone that puts Mr. Black's Black Box to shame, Toe's rock possesses the power to grant wishes.
Now, as the rock begins to change hands, Black Falls is overrun by miniature spaceships, crocodile armies, boogers the size of boulders, and whatever other oddities the imaginative local kids happen to dream up. Who would have thought that the real trouble would start once the grown-ups in town get their hands on the mysterious rock? With the situation quickly spiraling out of control, it's up to Toe and his friends to save the townspeople from themselves by proving to them that the things you wish for may not actually be the best things for you. Jon Cryer, William H. Macy, Leslie Mann, and James Spader co-star.

Cliff and Cydney are an adventurous young couple celebrating their honeymoon by backpacking to one of the most beautiful, and remote, beaches in Hawaii. Hiking the wild, secluded trails, they believe they’ve found paradise. But when the pair comes across a group of frightened hikers discussing the horrifying murder of another newlywed couple on the islands, they begin to question whether they should turn back. Unsure whether to stay or flee, Cliff and Cydney join up with two other couples, and things begin to go terrifyingly wrong. Far from civilization or rescue, everyone begins to look like a threat and nobody knows whom to trust. Paradise becomes hell on earth as a brutal battle for survival begins. After months of delays, the first trailer for David Twohy's A Perfect Getaway has debuted. The tropical thriller stars Steve Zahn and Milla Jovovich as a couple who take a vacation to a remote island in Hawaii only to discover that they're being stalked by some psychopaths. Those two are joined by Timothy Olyphant, Kiele Sanchez, and the new Thor, Chris Hemsworth. This actually looked pretty good - right up until that CGI axe came flying at the screen. The hyper-active montage following that shot also looks a bit intense. Maybe it'll be crazy? I'll be checking this out for sure, but I'll be going in cautiously optimistic. Enjoy! Two pairs of newlywed couples on a vacation to Hawaii discover that psychopaths are stalking and murdering tourists on the islands. Paradise becomes hell on earth as a brutal battle for survival begins.
A Perfect Getaway is both written and directed by David Twohy, creator of Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick and director of Timescape, The Arrival, and Below previously. The film was originally slated for release in March this year, but was delayed until the summer when Universal decided they wanted to release it instead of MGM. A Perfect Getaway will be arriving in theaters everywhere on August 14th this year.

Eesa is about the love between an angry young man and an innocent girl who works in the salt fields of Tuticorin.
Eesa is an upcoming movie that stars Vignesh and Lakshana.JK, the producer of this film, mentioned that Eesa will turn out to be Vignesh’s stepping-stone to success and stardom. Lakshana, plays the lead lady who enacts a laborer working at salt mine. The movie is being produced with much grandeur and JK has spent lavishly to ensure that the movie thrills the audiences and proves to be commercially successful.
Directed by Bala Ganesa, Eesa revolves around the relationship between a tough guy and an innocent girl. Vignesh dons the character of Sudalesan, a labor who works in a salt pan. Lakshana is paired opposite him.
Eesa is an upcoming movie that stars Vignesh and Lakshana. The film’s music is composed by Haran, son of noted musician and music troupe owner Sridhar.
The first song ‘Aahayam Idimuzhakka’ brings the easy style and musical prowess of Periya Karuppu Thevar and Mukesh to the fore. There is nothing radically new in the tune; it is an usual tappankoothu. Haran, Nancy Vincent and Udit Narayan join to render another fast-paced, similarly composed number ‘Vettaruva Kannazhagi’. Harish Raghavendra and Bombay Jayashree come together for the first time for the duet ‘Orumurai Nee Paarthal’. More than the musical ingredients, the chemistry between the singers and their expert rendition brings about an exclusivity to the song. Prashanthini, Mukesh, Naresh Iyer’s ‘Unnalathan Naanum Vazhven’ is an enjoyable. Kennedy, Jayashree Kumar and Mukesh’s ‘Yaaradi nee Mohini’ too is a well-knit composition.

KAMINEY is a story about a pair of twins - Charlie & Guddu who can’t stand the sight of each other. They are as different as chalk and cheese, Charlie lisps while Guddu stammers. One fateful rainy night, their carefully separated lives cross paths. Charlie gets mixed up in a deathly get-rich-quick scheme, while Guddu realizes that the love of his life, Sweety, has unwittingly put a price on his head. It’s a dark comic ride here onwards, as the brothers are sucked into a world of drugs, guns and money.Their lives collide head on with gangsters, rebel sodiers, rogue politicians and crooked cops. In the middle of this crazy adventure, the brothers have to run to protect themselves, their dreams and their love….And most importantly, they realize that all they have is each other.
Everything is about to change for Charlie and Guddu. In one day. A day of reckoning. An unusual day, just right for the unusual events that unfold in its course.
Guddu and Charlie are brothers, born and raised in Dharavi, the world's largest slum dwelling in the heart of the megalopolis, Mumbai. They also happen to be identical twins, in early twenties, hoping to leave the squalor behind and move into a life of prosperity and dignity. But the similarity ends here.
Guddu (Shahid Kapoor) works as a trainee in a small NGO firm in the city. He hopes to climb up to the top of the corporate ladder. He wants to be a bona fide member of the burgeoning Indian middle class. His career has only just begun though and the road to bourgeoisie is both long and arduous. Yet Guddu is at it. He is honest, diligent and careful.
Charlie (Shahid Kapoor) makes a living hedging bets at the race course. He moves around the plush hordes of the rich and famous at the races. For him this is just a way to make quick money and he dreams of becoming a legitimate bookie one day. Charlie is street smart, wily and brave and lives only for himself.
The brothers don't like each other. They believe they have nothing in common, not even their speech defect. While Guddu stammers, especially when he is nervous, Charlie has a lisp. They have built their lives so that their paths don't ever cross. They believe it's only a question of time before they are out of each other's sight forever.
Charlie is having a bad day at the office. He has practically bet everything he possesses on a coveted derby race. But at the last minute, he is double crossed as the race is fixed in their opponent's favour. He hunts down the jockey and plans to get even when the rival goons burst in. In the ensuing melee, Charlie and his friends take off with a getaway car, not knowing that the car belongs to a ruthless pair of cops, Lobo and Lele, who run drugs for the beach lord, Tashi. Soon enough, Charlie discovers a stash of coke in the boot of the car. All hell now breaks loose as the cops and the drug mafia are on his case. Charlie has to survive by his wits alone.
Guddu is performing a street theatre act when his newfound girlfriend, Sweety Bhope (Priyanka Chopra) appears on the scene, distraught and announces that she is pregnant. Guddu is shocked at first but realizes quickly that there is no real problem. They can get married right away!
But they can't. There is a real problem. Sweety reveals her secret. Her brother is Sunil 'chopper' Bhope (Amol Gupte), a gangster with political ambitions and a ridiculously dangerous man. And he already knows. Sweety informs Guddu that as they speak, her brother's men are out for his blood.
The story unfolds as the day progresses. Intercut between the parallel stories of the brothers as they run to protect themselves, their dreams and their love. Until a point where it converges and the brothers meet to realize that they only have each other.
It is only through trust in each other that they can get out of the mess that they haven't created. They uncover a deadly political-police-underworld nexus. They discover virtues within themselves they thought didn't exist. And most important of all, they find each other.
Director, producer, composer, lyricist, screenplay writer, all rolled in all , a one man army, this is Vishal Bhardwaj, especially for his hardcore fans who belong to all sections of the society and love his kind of dark noir cinema. Films that are gripping, music that is earthy and haunting and stories that are engaging and engrossing. Vishal is always unpredictable and that's where his ingenuity and charm lies. Son of renowned poet and lyricist, Ram Bhardwaj, Vishal, (as a composer) has several films to his credit. But the ones that remain etched out in memory are MAACHIS (''Chappa Chappa Charkha Chale and ''Chhod Aayein Hum Woh Galiyaan'') and OMKARA. In his last outing via Ajay Devgan's directorial debut venture U, ME AUR HUM, he broke away from his usual (but well loved) kind of music and so the album was a forgettable experience. However this time around he is back with his kind of cinema and with it, his kind of music. Naturally expectations are manifold from this maverick all rounder, who along with the genius called Gulzar Sahab (fresh from his Oscar win), comes up with his next venture, KAMINEY, which is about to unfold and music lovers who feast on 'hatke' music are in for an audible treat in the form of the audio album of the Shahid Kapoor-Priyanka Chopra starrer, KAMNIEY. So, let's get set and go! Nostalgia grips the listeners as they are simply swept off their feet as the spellbinding rollicking signature tune heralds the arrival of the opening track, ''Dhan Te Nan'', a tune which has been heard in highly tense climax portions of many action movies in the seventies and early eighties. (Obviously inspired by the highly popular theme music of Quentin Tarantino's cult action classic PULP FICTION). Sukhwinder has always excelled under the baton of Vishal and here he is simply mind-boggling and matching him step to step is our very own rock star incarnated Vishal Dadlani, who rocks to the core with some highly energetic and expressive singing. Robert 'Bob' Omulo chips in with the rap portions. One can sense how much they must have enjoyed while recording the song as it is evident from their rendition, and the feeling is mutual as this song has gripped the nation's imagination with its very first teaser. The absolutely awesome guitaring simply invites dancing, rock n roll seventies style! Living legend Gulzar deserves all the accolades for the highly enjoyable but some really apt (though crazy and abstract) lyrics. Just imagine making a song out of a sound, a signature tune, only Gulzar Sahab can do that. The lyrics are the USP of the track. ''Aaja aaja dil nichodein, Raat ki matki phodein, Koi goodluck nikalein, Aaj gullak to phode.'' We have had many numbers that have money as their subject, but nothing can get more zanier and better than this. After ''Beedi' this number by Vishal, Gulzar and Sukhi is sure to top all the charts and occupy pole position, besides being a constant feature in every club, discos, cars, parties and pubs etc. CHARTBUSTER! The remixed version of ''Dhan Te Nan'' is quite different and highly enjoyable too, although the rocking guitar signature tune forms the main backdrop here also. Efforts have been put in to make it sound different. Here the emphasis is more on English rap and reggae with reference to Mr. Bollywood and King of neighbourhood. All credit to the producer Abhijit Vaghani who chips in with the rap parts and Dominique Crejo provides the oomph with the female rap parts as well as doubling up as the lyricist (for the rap portions) . Good work by Aftab Khan who has remixed it. Lovely piano piece serenades as the love ballad ''Pehli Baar Mohabbat'' opens and Mohit Chauhan's deliriously base vocals take over and one is simply mesmerized by the sheer genius of Vishal and Gulzar, who are in prime form together in this number. If the Shahid-Mohit combo regaled listeners with ''Tum Se Hi'' (JAB WE MET), this number is sure to follow suit. Coming to the beautiful composition, the beauty lies in its gradual picking up pace and rhythm reaching a scintillating crescendo (the percussions are absolutely rocking!) as Mohit goes ''Pehli baar mohabbat ki hai.'' This number will find patronage amongst all those who love their romantic ballads to be just that, no foreign infringements in the form of rap, nasal croonings, or sensual sounding back-up chorals. Well, what do we have here. ''Raat Ke Dhai Baje'' is not the chartbusting item number that one was looking forward to after being hit by its superbly rhythmic opening piece, but one of the entirely different (both in terms of lyrics as well as tune) but highly enjoyable versions of the track, ''Pehli Baar Mohabbat Ki Hai''as these line has been incorporated in this song too. This number is more in the form of a highly energetic dance track and has been amalgamated with touches of 'techno qawwali'. Vishal hires the services of his ''Beedi'' queen, Sunidhi Chauhan, along with his ever favourite Rekha Bhardwaj (who mainly excels in folksy numbers) and veteran Suresh Wadkar. Kunal Ganjawala too is a part of this highly charged dance track and URL (Earl ED) is there for the rap vocals and FX. Rekha Bhardwaj is a revelation as she simply excels and at times even outshines Sunidhi (in parts). Gulzar sahab's lyrics are amazing, ''Ek hi lat suljhane mein saari raat guzari hai, Chaand ki gathri sar pe le li, Aap ne kaisi zahmat ki hai.'' Once again an effort to make the remix version of ''Raat Ke Dhai Baje'' appears different as well as entertaining has been made and it succeeds too, making it even more dance and youth oriented. Producer Abhijit Vaghani, arranger Aftab Khan and URL (rap vocals and FX) need a pat on the back for it. In OMKARA Vishal was inspired by a popular folk song from Western Uttar Pradesh (where he belongs) and in ''Fatak'' he once again revisits his Meerut roots and what an idea sir jee, bringing singers like Kailash Kher and Sukhwinder Singh (two highly talented artists) together to render this earthy, folk based but highly infectious track. They simply gel so well together, as they sing in tandem, an entirely situational number that introduces the lead protagonist through some absolutely on dot lyrics, which are funny as well - ''Jitna bhi jhooth bole thoda hai, Keedon ki basti ka makoda hai,

Teree Sang movie is based on a teenage love story. The film story depicts a teenage girl, 15 year old Maahi living in Delhi with her rich family that gives all her financial support and high education. A boy 17 year old Kabir is arrogant, rebellious and demanding .He is not romantic but he loves. He is too confident of himself and he comes from family low in financial status.
Mahi and Kabir meet one day and they become friends. Maahi likes the way Kabir’s family lives and she feels Kabir is urban and updated in style. Their relationship grows a one day they get alone at a New Year’s Eve to get into a physical relationship. Their night stand together makes Maahi pregnant. What follows is a journey of accepting one’s mistakes & owning up to it, a tale of courage & determination. It’s a cry for help by those numerous Kidult couples that have & are facing such a dilemma in their lives at this very moment. It’s an attempt to bring to light an issue… teenage pregnancy… which is rampant & is growing exponentially in the current Indian society – modern & rural.
Teree Sang movie releases on 7th August in India. It is not a love story movie; it is an educational movie which reveals the hidden problems of teenager. What is the basic problem of youths and teenagers, today? Yes, the move claims that it will solve all the problems which are inside among the teenager.
You can say that Teree Sang is a kidult movie based on new generation. It leads the story of unplanned pregnancy of teenager Maahi (Sheena), who is 15 years old only. She is bubbly, beautiful and child girl of the Puri family, who lives in Delhi. She belongs to rich family and enjoys the best comforts and education.
On the other hand, there is Kabir (Ruslaan Mumtaz), a 17 years old typical guy. He is arrogant and rebellious. He belongs to the poor family. Both are good looking guys and become friends. Their relationship grows day by day and end results come as pregnancy of Maahi.
Teree Sang is able to show the journey of love which turns into mistakes of life. It is not the story of only Maahi and Kabir but whole teenagers of India are suffered from it. Teree Sang movie is trying to focus the issue of teenagers’ pregnancy by which Indian society is suffered – rural & modern both.
After a long time director Satish Kaushik has tried to give something different to the Indian audiences. However, it is not a new theme. In spite of, the movie will attract the audiences due to its new theme. It is comedy based movie which leads the romance and educational topics. The story of Teree Sang has been written by Sanjay Chauhan and Jainendra Jain. It is a small budget movie which is produced by Bharat Shah. Satish Kaushik has acted in the movie also along with director.
Teree Sang is able to show new type of "masala" to the Indian audiences which is liked by teenagers much. It is all about enjoyment of teenagers – drinking, smoking, get together in party, restaurant, kiss, love etc. Teree Sang is a type of kidult love movie. The movie has selected a very good theme which is very new for India. The movie will show the attraction of teenagers which is really not a love. Teenagers love what situation creates in the society and their life, they don’t know. Satish Kaushik will surely present the filmy style of love rather than natural come back in life because it is India.
We all should know that there is already a Hollywood movie on the same theme of Teree Sang – Juno (2007). It was the biggest hit movie and won Oscar along with Another 49 wins & 37 nominations. Juno movie also leads the story of 16 years old school girl who faced an unexpected pregnancy. Her boyfriend is also teenager. She wants to help calling "Speedy Abortion", but her friend Su-Chin, an anti-abortion protester. In the end of the movie life has returned to normal. But do you expect that in Indian society Teree Sang will end like Juno? No, never because name of the movie is Teree Sang. Official site of Teree Song: http://www.tereesangthefilm.com/news/news_03.html has made a signature of
"50 School Principals give two thumbs up to Teree Sang movie".
What would be finally, we will watch it on 7th June, 2009. Till now, I am not going to criticize Teree Sang and Satish Kaushik because he will also need some reward by this movie. Here, I am very sure that it will be great commercial entertaining movie that will make aware Indian families and teenagers to move with safe.

Reviews
Chal Chalein is about a group of friends who are preparing for their exams and on the first day of the exams one of their friend commits suicide. Enraged by the situation, the friends decide to file a case against the parents of the child and also a case against the government.
Mithun Chakraborty plays their lawyer. It becomes a national issue overnight.arents get annoyed with this movement. Anoop Soni represents the parents at court. Government selects Nandita Prakash (Shilpa Shukla) as their lawyer. Chief justice of India Justice Bharat Kumar (Mukesh Khanna) is appointed as the head of the bench. The whole nation supports the children in this movement. Now it’s the law who has to react.Chal Chalein is the word, which shows moving a step ahead to achieve something. Let’s go to do one of the greatest revolutions… get together and Chal Chalein. It is an upcoming Bollywood movie which releases on 7th June, 2009. Chal Chalein movie introduces Mithun Chakraborty as lawyer who helps kids against their family. It is also an educational movie like Teree Sang, which releases on the same date of Chal Chalein but theme are quite different. The movie has introduced a group of 8 students – Abhinav (Saket Sharma), Varun (Pratham Sadh), Gaurav (Dhairya Oza), Bharat (Venky), Dheeraj (Karan Arora), Nitin (Chirag Ruia), Navneet (Priyesh Sagar) and Vaishnavi (Tanvi Hegde). The group is known as "Dashing Lads". They were best friends… having their share of "good time"… but one incident changed their lives…
Chal Chalein movie starts when Navneet commits suicide. He commits suicide because of his parents study pressure. The guy was interested in literature but father wants to see him as an engineer. The guy was innocent, playful and rational. This accident gives the reason of Chal Chalein movie to go ahead. It is one step against injustice. "Dashing Lads" group is now worried and wants to do something to stop these types of suicides. They thought to start a movement against those parents, who pressuring their children. In this process they meet with Sanjay (Mithun Chakraborty), who is a lawyer. Mithun Chakraborty is known as helpful person so; in this movie he helps the movement of students. Another kid’s superstar, Mukesh Khanna is appointed as Justice Bharat Kumar. Whole nations help to the children against parents’ pressure.
According to the Chal Chalein movie there are some questions which will be solved in the movie – Are the students right? What would be the reaction? What will be the judgment? Whom do you support? Last question is for audiences. Whom audiences will support?
Director Ujjwal Singh has tried to raise some basic questions related to the education system. Yes, he is right but it is one aspect of that problem by which students commit suicide. Why a father wants to see his son as a doctor or engineer? I think this is the basic question but it never has been raised in the movie.
Writer of the movie Vijaya Ramchandrula is also satisfied to solve single question of the society in dreamy style. Surely, Chal Chalein is not a big budget movie because it is directed by Mahesh Padalkar.
Chal Chalein is the drama genre movie which will show the mentality of middle class society. It will not get great popularity like New York movie or Love Aaaj Kal because it is just like a TV serial. I have not seen this type of movie yet but the movie has tried to show the real problem of society.
Chal Chalein movie show a revolutionary energy to fight against parents. It is really good but is it possible in real life? We know that in advance country like – the USA and the UK parents are not able to pressurize their children but in India it is still very backward concept.
Chal Chalein movie leads the problem of middle class society only. It is not a problem in lower class and higher class society because in lower class students get nominal study to survive their life and in higher class society they need not to think about their future career. Basically, the problem to commit suicide leads the concept of career. A father wants to see his son as an engineer or doctor because he wants to secure his child career.
I am very sure that Chal Chalein movie will conclude this problem against parents. So, you can watch a drama and dynamics of students thought, concept and their fight. The movie is just like a drama which would be better for kids and parents only.
We have already watched the basic concept of education in Tare Zameen Par. Education says to go deep into a subject which is the choice of a student. I have also watched many Indian families, who pressurize their children to make contact only with books not with living things. I am waiting Chal Chalien at theater then after it would be consider that how effective the movie is!

Review

Agyaat is a thriller movie which revolves around a film unit that goes to a jungle for a shoot and gets misplaced. The shoot is put on hold when a camera malfunctions and they have to wait for a replacement.
To kill time they decide to go on a trek into the jungle with the caretaker of the jungle. When the caretaker is found mauled one night the panic and fear of the darkness of the unknown world sets in and the movie take a 360 degree turn as each one present there is fighting for their lives from something they have not seen. This unseen is faster, smarter and is out to kill them.We see change in their attitude, their beliefs and the film is poised to judge whether mankind’s survival instinct can prevail over darkness of a world they cannot imagine. The story of ‘Agyaat’ revolves around a film unit, which goes into a forest, in order to do shooting for its upcoming movie. The place where they settle down boasts of bare minimal facilities and is run by a weird and peculiar man Setu. The hero of the film is Sharman, a popular actor who is only concerned about two things – his muscles and the leading lady Aasha (Nisha Kothari). On the other hand, Aasha puts up with him only because he is such a big star. The director of the film is JJ, who thinks of himself as the Steven Spielberg of India, while Moorty thinks of him as an idiot who is screwing up the film.
As a part of the film unit, we have Laxman, a seemingly submissive spot boy who has a concealed atrocious ego. Then, we have Cinematographer Shakky, a philosophical guy, and Action Director Rakka, a frustrated man who hates the leading actor, Sharman. Other unit members include Script Supervisor Sameera, a simple girl who has principles and harbors a secret crush on Sujal (Assistant Director), who is mesmerized by the leading lady Aasha. One fine day, the camera plays spoil sport and the crew has to ask for a replacement, which will take at least two days to arrive.
In the two-day break from work, they are given the option of a camping trip into the forest, by Setu. With no other form of entertainment or communication, they jump at his offer and soon, they are driven deeper into the jungle, by Setu, in a relic Jonga. While Setu is so comfortable with the twisting roads and innumerable turns, the crew members find everything around them to be looking the very same. As the night falls, all of them settle down near a pond and start a bonfire. Suddenly, Setu hears a strange sound and goes to investigate it. When he doesn’t return for sometime, others search for him and find his dead body.
Tired and frightened, they get into the Jonga and try to escape. However, in their haste and total unfamiliarity with the terrain, they end up being involved in an accident and the axle breaks, rendering the vehicle useless. With Setu, the only guy who knew how to get out of jungle, dead, they don’t know which way to go. In the meantime, one of the unit members gets brutally killed. Now, they realize that someone out there is after them. Now, as the crew members start getting killed one-by-one, starts the fight to survive against that unknown entity. What will happen now? Will anyone of the crew members survive the jungle or not?
